General Questions Thread

Of the pitches you have shown only the green would suit him atm. Uneven does require consistency to be real effective. But yea div 5 of Aus/Eng he won't be ripping apart teams at superb.

He has proficient stamina and PFL is usually superb (he rarely plays FC games). Form is usually good as well. I play in England div 5, so I don't expect him to demolish most teams, but in my OD league there is 1 bot and 2 weak human managed teams, and he can't even do well against them!
When he bowls to batsmen with similar skills to him, he typically goes for 0/60 off 10 overs. When playing a weak human managed team or bot its often 1/50.
I've tried all orders except attacking and very attacking.

Considering that he's of a destructive nature I can't understand why you haven't tried him on attacking orders yet. V. Attacking is more suited to his nature, so perhaps try that first for 2 -3 games and then attacking.

*Bump*

I've got a bit of selection dilemma which of course is a good thing. These are the two players are in contention for a spot.

Simon Clunnie - 18 yo, BT Rating=29,834
RH Batsman, LH Spin Bowler. He is an attacking player with abysmal leadership skills and abysmal experience.
He currently has superb batting form, superb bowling form and fresh fitness.

Stamina: proficient Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: quality Concentration: competent
Bowling: respectable Consistency: strong
Fielding: woeful

Matt Davidson - 23 yo, BT Rating=26,817
RH Batsman, RFM Bowler. He is a defensive player with strong leadership skills and remarkable experience.
He currently has superb batting form, superb bowling form and energetic fitness.

Stamina: superb Wicket Keeping: respectable
Batting: proficient Concentration: feeble
Bowling: proficient Consistency: mediocre
Fielding: abysmal

Now both players in my current best XI but Clunnie only plays as a batsmen while Davidson plays as a bowling allrounder batting at 8 and bowling first change. Now Clunnie has just popped to respectable bowling and is on 1 bowling net, which I'll probably take off him at the start of next season due to new trainees or developing another player's stamina. Davidson is getting no training.

This is where my problem lies. Do I play Clunnie because of his bowling is only slightly behind Davidson but his consistency is far better. Or does Davidson still play because of his better bowling skill. He's done a good job this season in OD taking 13 wickets at 38 but his most impressive stat is his economy which is only 4.39, basically he's just a holding bowler to let my two/three strike bowlers pick up wickets. Another factor for Clunnie's inclusion to the fifth bowling spot is that if he does bowl then I can fit in another specialist batsmen which is good for my team as my batting isn't that strong.

Thanks for reading this lengthy post :). I look foward to reading your thoughts.

Clunnie consistency is enough to even out the difference in bowling level. But you can go based on pitch type as well, if you don't have a spinner in your side already then Clunnie should be there.

I do already have a spinner in my side.

Steven Pearse - 23 yo, BT Rating=16,746
RH Batsman, RH Spin Bowler. He is a cautious player with superb leadership skills and respectable experience.
He currently has proficient batting form, superb bowling form and energetic fitness.

Stamina: competent Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: proficient Concentration: feeble
Bowling: strong Consistency: competent
Fielding: worthless

My pitch is uneven because my strength lies in my seam bowling where I have two remarkables and one sensational. I'd prefer to keep it seamer friendly as well.

Ok, I just started playing Battrick yesterday, I was wondering what to do with this bloke. I have a better young keeper, so I want to know whether to keep him, fire him or sell him.

Philip Cleaver - 30 yo, BT Rating=4,003
RH Batsman, RH Spin Bowler. He is a destructive player with competent leadership skills and abysmal experience.
He currently has proficient batting form, respectable bowling form and energetic fitness.
Stamina: mediocre Wicket Keeping: mediocre
Batting: feeble Concentration: feeble
Bowling: woeful Consistency: feeble
Fielding: feeble

Started battrick again.. (the the 10th billion time) but I have to wait even though it says there is over 2000 available and I'm the only one waiting. sigh.

Feelin Blue? added 8 Minutes and 5 Seconds later...

Oh wrong thread. Might as well make this into a question: shouldn't I get a team straight away!?!
