Team Info

Glenorchy Knights grew out of "Glenorchy Croatia", one of the state's more successful clubs having won many leagues and cups, when it was decided in 1997, that ethnic affiliations should be ended for football clubs in Australia. Prior to that, Glenorchy Croatia had been largely dependent upon the ex-patriot Croatian community for the bulk of its players.

Glenorchy Croatia was born in 1957, and experienced almost immediate success, winning the state title for the first time in 1963. They experienced their best success in the 1970's, winning three titles, before having a league lull in the 1980s. However, re-branded as the Glenorchy Knights they have slowly established a new sense of self, culminating in winning the State Championship for the first time in 13 years in 2005, and narrowly missing out on back to back state titles by losing a penalty shoot-out to Somerset in 2006.

In 2008 Glenorchy Knights will be joining the A-League with a new manager, and a new team. They have declared interest in playing at North Hobart Oval, and will also be known as The Magpies. joining alongside the Glenorchy District Football Club.

2006 the Glenorchy Knights won the Southern Premier League Title and now they are looking to add the A-League Crown to their collection.

Second New Tasmanian A-League Side?
by Jason Howard

After the news of Glenorchy (Magpies) Knights gaining entry into the A-League a new side Launceston United are looking to enter the league as well. The side finished the 2007 season on the bottom of the Nothern (Tas.) Premier League table, but with the backing of this mysery man they are going to try and sign some players to their club.

The backer who has not been named is said to be placing a lot of faith in the club, and he is also looking to be repaid by the club as soon as the team starts to show some sign of improvement.

The team will be playing at Aurora Stadium, and will share the stadium with the AFL, though the fixture shows there not to be any clashes so the team will be safe to use the Ground without any problems.

The Tasmanian Government, with the aide of Football Federation of Australia are going to build a new stadium, that will replace the Elwick Showgrounds in the States South, in hopes to lure some big time football into the state. The hope is to generate some money to not only improve the standard of the local league but the teams they have made their intentions clear on joining the A-League.

Glenorchy Stadium will be home to the Glenorchy (Magpies) Knights, and will also bring the new push for an AFL side in Tasmania. Glenorchy have already been on the march for players signing David Harding from their Southern Premier League side, as well as signing Falco Walker from Newcastle, and Scott McKissack from Melbourne.

The Croatian alignment may see Croatian players coming to Glenorchy to play, it is known that Glenorchy has been blessed with a lot of talented Croatian born stars playing for the club, the dropping of the Croatian name from the side came as a surprise but a lot of players are still members of the Croatian Club in Glenorchy.

Wellington Phoenix gone?
by Daniel Taylor

Wellington Phoenix have announced they will no longer be apart of the Hyundai A-League as of today, the team has elected to join the New Zealand Championship after finanacial problems have left them no choice but to leave the league.

It is believed the Launceston team will not be joining the A-League afterall as a board meeting was called for and they voted against the move from the Tasmanian Premier League into the A-League.

The Knights are still ready to move in, electing their board members Bradley Santos has become the chairman of the newly formed Glenorchy side in the A-League and he has been talking about the signings they have made.

"With Croatia being apart of our history, we have signed a couple of young Croatian stars" Santos mentioned at the press conference announcing his signing.

Franjo Kavac and Danijel Rakitić will be joining the side, alongside Australian born Blair Stevanovich who has Croatian heritage. Stevanoch has had previous service with Glenorchy-Croatia as well as playing for Glenorchy rivals Clarence in the past.

Franjo Kavac is hopeful that this will kick start an international career that has been put on hold of late, Kavac played for the Croatian Under 21 side as well as their Under 19 side.

They will join other international stars in Ili Reland from Ireland, and Cameron Jefferson from the United States, who joins the side after leaving the Los Angeles Galaxy this past season.

Glenorchy's reserve side has been coming along well as well with the signing of Cody Harding, as well as Jamie Harding both joining the side from the Clarence United side. They will be entered into the Tasmanian Southern Premier League with the new Glenorchy side. The team has also announced they are affiliating with Glenorchy Knights in the league, to give them some finanial help as well as playing some friendlys with the team.

There will also be a friendly between Glenorchy and Hobart Olympic which will most likely be played at North Hobart Oval at some point.

A Message From the New GLenorchy Knights Manager

2008 sees the birth of a new Glenorchy Knights outfit, not only will we have the same passion as the Glenorchy Knights of the Tasmanian Southern Premier League, but we will have the same desire. We also enter the league with a lot of unknown players, a few of which are going to be playing their first games ever for the Knights.

We will not be just known as the Knights, after a deal with the Glenorchy District Football Club, we have taken on the Magpie name and when we play at the Glenorchy Stadium, we will wear the stripes of Glenorchy Magpies.

As we enter into a new season, with a new team, a new stadium, and a new league we have a new board consisting of Bradley Santos (Chairman) Chuck Ortega (Director) Dael McGuire (Director) Ashton King (Managing Director) and Keegan Scheider (Director of Football) these men have taken on a tough task that will oversee not only my future with the club, but the futures of some of the players at the club as well.

For the future of the club we have set up an affiliation program that is going to see players move between the main side and those sides as well, the reserves side we have set up will see 2 Glenorchy sides in the Southern Premier League and will see future players maybe coming into the side.

Our Reserves side under Steve Hodges, are not expecting big things with this being the teams first season in the league, but with Gabriel Cole, Troy Holt, and Anthony Miles we're hoping for some big things down in the Tasmanian Southern Premier League.

The affiliations program starts with the Glenorchy Knights, Hobart Olympic and the Tilford Zebras, with these alignments we hope to help those clubs and to help the league breeding new stars for the future of the Glenorchy senior team.

I have been looking as maybe getting an affiliation with a team in the North, while that seems to be some ways off, we are hopeful the best thing for Tasmanian Football will be met. We are going to share our new stadium with possibly the Tasmanian Devils VFL side, but that has yet to be confirmed as yet.

Youth Development will be a key agenda for the side, with a Youth Coach being sort after, we are going to make an announcement before the season starts with that news. The Knights are aiming for a big season, and we are aiming to make people stand and take notice of the young Tasmanians that are in the side as well as some other young Australian players.

The eyes of the world will be on the Glenorchy Knights as well, with some of our young players coming from all over the world, we have Japanese, Mexican, French, South African, American players playing in the side as well as a couple of young Englishmen who will be looking to work their way into their national team.

While we have looked at some big international stars, no one was signed, as we are still testing the waters, our first season, is going to be a testing time, and we do want to over do the team list.

The board will also post a letter stating the future Glenorchy Knights players that have found their home in local sides, we are starting a youth academy and that should reap some rewards for us.

Gaming Story is starting today, as this is the final roster update, and final season news info sheet, before the season starts. In the first post you will see the full team list and the reserves list. I will make any non-story comments in red italics for everyone to know what is not apart of the story and what is actual me adding stuff.

logo_main.jpg

Pre-Season Thoughts

The Pre-season is coming, and we are pumped, soon the Glenorchy Knights will take part in their first ever pre-season cup game in the A-League and we have a good team ready to line up. We are taking all the Pre-season and the friendly's serious and we are hoping to have a good start to the season.

Last night the team shirts were handed out and the numbers were finalised, going into the season we will announce the captains before the start of the season. We also welcome new signings that came to the club before the cut off period Brad Bauer, Ashie, Nathan Stevanovich, and Matthew Stevanovich will join the club. Matthew will be playing down in the Reserves with the Tasmanian Southern Premier League when that starts up.

We have also started an affiliation with Launceston City in the Tasmanian Northern Premier League as well as Burnie United. With the affiliation we are going to play games against these sides as well as have first pick of their players when they are ready to play in the big time.

Below are some players that we have looked at and have scouted, the following players have been added to the scouts list for the next 2 seasons...

Glenorchy Knights
Abe Nash (Striker)
Gabriel Blanger (Goalkeeper)
Justin Ct (Defender)
Nikola Drakic (Defender)

Tilford Zebras
Kevin Hildebrandt (Striker)
Jack Taylor (Goalkeeper)
Riley Williams (Midfielder)

Hobart Olympic
James White (Striker)
Joshua Martin (Defender)
Ethan Johnson (Attacking Midfielder)

Burnie United
William Lee (Defender)
Tyler Ryan (Defender)
Alexander Harris (Striker)

Launceston City
Thomas Watts (Forward)
Lucas Thomas (Striker)
Aidan Lynch (Attacking Midfielder/Forward)

We will also keep an eye on a few others that are playing in the teams and hope to at some stage have future players coming on board at the Knights. We are going to show off our new strip once we get a letter back from the league that the colours have been accepted and we are allowed to wear the kits we have put forward.

Glenorchy release kits for new A-League Season

THE wait is over. Glenorchy have finally finalised and relased their strips for their A-League debut this season. It has been a year in the making June 2006 the Glenorchy Knights made a play for the A-League, they wanted in and it has finally come true, the dream of a Tasmanian A-League side has been realised and now Tasmania can rejoice in the fact that Tasmanian Football is now going to be shown on the grand stage.

Today at press conference Glenorchy players modeled the new home, away and clash strip and we have photos of them now!

glenorchykits.jpg

Glenorchy has stayed with tradition with the third outfit, as the Glenorchy Knights wear that in the Tasmanian Southern Premier League. Glenorchy will host their first game at their new stadium when they play Burnie United, in a friendly that will see both affiliated clubs clash for the first time ever.

It will be the first time that this side has played and the media are looking forward to the unavailing of the new club.

Young Knight stars for South Africa
By Ashley Turner

Felix Boucher who joined the Glenorchy line up has starred for his country in an Under-23 match this past week. Felix Boucher managed to score 2 goals in the South Africans 2-0 win over Equatorial Guinea.

Boucher has moved to Australia from South Africa over the past few weeks and he appears happy with the move "I'm glad to be getting a chance in a national league" Boucher said when asked about his move to the A-League.

Boucher has yet to play for Glenorchy, but there is high expectations, manager Robert Vandenberg is confident he will do well. "We've been impressed with him around the club, and he has shown a lot of maturity we are looking forward to his progress with us." the Glenorchy Manger said.

The Match

The Tilford Zebras are up against A-League affiliate Glenorchy, this is the Glenorchy teams first ever game, and they are looking to make it a memorable one. We are expecting a Glenorchy win, the 19,101 Glenorchy members might not be able to come here today but we are expecting a good crowd.

Odds

Tilford Zebras: 50-1 Draw: 11-2 Glenorchy: 1-33(Fav)

Key Man Match

Tilford Zebras - Lachlan Jones:
16 year old Lachlan has been scouted by many as being the next big thing for the Australian soccer team, and for whatever team picks him up. Lachlan is a talented young Attacking Midfielder, he will be the man the Glenorchy boys have to shut down.

Glenorchy - Matthew Makepeace: 27 year old attacking midfeidler Matthew Makepeace is an interesting one, previously clubs had felt he was too lazy to make it on the national stage but somehow he managed to impress the Glenorchy officials and now he is the man we have picked as being the key man for the side.

Prediction

I fully expect Glenorchy to record an easy win of the Hobart (Tilford) Zebras, there is some sheer class on display for Glenorchy today, and it wouldn't surpise me if they managed to sneak out to a 2 or 3 goal lead at the break. But there is a good chance that Glenorchy could score more.

The Game

The game started started slowly, the Glenorchy side took control of the ball and started to take some shots on goal. It took 17 minutes before Ashie passed to Harding who took a shot on goal, it was saved by Jack Taylor but Adam Garland was there and he booted the ball home. Glenorchy got the ball again David Harding got past the defence and then a long range shot by Ashie went straight through into the back of the net.

The next goal again saw Harding and Ashie team up to see David Gilligan hit the Zebras goal and from there it looked like the side were going to go on a scoring rampage. But the game came with some downsides John Micevski was injured by Ashie. Early in the second half Glenorchy made a lot of changes Tibesy who had a clean sheet he was taken off and on came Ben Robinson a young keeper, Jimmy Francis came on, Brett Doyle came on, and Blair Stevanovich came on as well.

Scott McKissack was handed a yellow card for a reckless challenge, Hildebrandt on the breakaway hit home the first goal for the Zebras. The Zebra fans were excited to score a goal against their more talented apponents.

Ashie again assisted in another goal, a pass to Harding saw Harding slam home his first and the Ashie/Harding connection were far too good for the Zebras. Both had outstanding games for the Knights and managed to out play, them the score does not reflect the final dominacne the Knights had on this game they used 8 subs of the 12 maximum in the game.

Jimmy Francis got a bit of the ball, and tried to push forward but he was offside, and his other shots were wide of the mark. Scott McKissack, gave away some freekicks and got himself a yellow card. Glenorchy will play the Glenorchy Knights in another pre-season game at KGV Soccer Park.

Key Man Watch - Tilford Zebras - Lachlan Jones:
Jones provided his team with their first goal, and the left winger was a good solid contributor to the game for the Zebras.

Glenorchy - Matthew Makepeace:
Much like Lachlan Jones, the attacking midfielder had a hand in a goal and had a good game.

Post Match Analysis

Glenorchy got the victory of the Tilford Zebras as expected but I am sure they wouldn have liked a bigger margin, but they changed the side gave as many players a run as possible. A few players played the full match, Ashie and Harding were on fire throughout the game having a hand in all four goals with both scoring a goal themselves. The team would be disappointed with some of the shots on goal, going way wide, Harding and Francis where offenders, while McKissack could have provided more for the team then getting a yellow card and getting freekicked a few times during the game.

A second half fade out by the Knights gave two goals to the Zebras, there are things to work on for the team before they enter into the A-League pre-season, the team have a game against their name sake Glenorchy Knights at KGV Soccer Park, at Anfield Street Glenorchy this game should be a beauty to see, and will bring in some money for the Knights down in the Tasmanian Southern Premier League.

Knights secure 3.7m in partnership deal
by
Jake Williams

The Glenorchy Knights have recieved $3.7M as apart of their current affiliation with the A-League side of the same name. Glenorchy has offered the club this money as a yearly payment for sending players and taking players from the club.

Glenorchy has a partnership with other Tasmanian Southern Premier League clubs and it would appear that they will also be gaining some money that will see them able to survive in the Tasmanian competition.

Glenorchy are also assisting local football with their reserve team playing in the local league and with some of the smaller teams playing at their .
stadium against them.

Future fixtures will include more Tasmanian based friendlys in the near future, things are looking up for the competition with the news of more moneyt being available.

L.A Galaxy and Chicago playing in Australia
by Jason Taylor

Glenorchy has signed a contract to play the Los Angeles Galaxy at Glenrochy Stadium in the next few weeks, this will see the stadium host it;s first ever game of football since it was opened.

Glenorchy has also offered a friendly against Chicago, both game deals are sketchy but they are going to happen this month with Glenorchy wanting to play some top teams ahead of their first A-League Pre-season comp.

Bookmakers have not given the Knights a chance of winning the competition, there is no one tipping them to win the A-League title either it seems that Glenorchy will be going against the odds this season.

Glenorchy are also looking to play Barcelona as well in the pre-season, but that has yet to be confirmed by either Glenorchy or the officials of Barcelona.

The Preview

Glenorchy are coming off a decent win against the Tilford Zebras, in the end the many subs became the thing that got the Zebras into the game here they are playing the team they were named after and they are playing them at the KGV Soccer Oval, there should be close to 1k at the game which will be a good crowd for both sides.

Glenorchy should not have much trouble in today's game they can put away the Knights and continue a good pre-season and get some form in for the Pre-season competition. Glenorchy Knights after the $3.7m they were paid earlier in the week will feel they have already won and don't have to worry about winning or losing this game.

They are also getting the gate for this game, so it has been a good week all around for the Knights but this game could see that ends on a bad note.

Glenorchy Subs

Key Man Watch

Glenorchy Knights - David Pfeiffer:
A talented young player that was brought to the side as apart of the deal between the new Knights and the old this kid will be the man to watch for the Knights they are going to have to make sure to keep him out of the game.

Glenorchy - Brian Gilligan: The Irish born defender I believe is the man that is going to be able to keep the game away from the Knights he and his brother were good against the Zebras and they are going to show what they can do against top sides very soon.

Prediction

I do not believe the Knights have what it takes to stop Ashie, or David Harding, and then they have the Gilligan's in the side that were good last time out. We are also seeing some guys for the first time yo uhave Jason Leung in the side, Falco Walker, Josh Waight, the Knights were not very happy with some from last week so some changes were made. Also Cody Bird takes up Harding's position he is moved.

Thanks, I tried to get the third kit as close to the real Glenorchy side as possible, as they have had a strong Croatian tradition and they currently wear the red and white. The Black and white tops are my own addition to add some originality there.

The reports will get longer and better as I go along, there is another Football Story I am doing where I have coached Everton and Australia, I would post that here but I wouldn't want to push my luck.

The Game

Glenorchy again controlled the game, early on they had all the shots and would have all the play. The goalkeeper for the Knights kept the ball out for most of the first half. Sandars went down with an injury from a tough challenge, there are some worries there. The game was still locked coming into the 38 minute.

But when Cody Bird broke away from the Knights defenders ha slammed home the first goal. That left the game at 1-0 at Half time and the Glenorchy players went into Half Time content with their position.

Some changes came, Leung and Walker came on the pitch, and Falco got into the action very early on he was on the end of a Harding long range shot that was saved and he rounded the keeper and snuck it home. Harding again was in the action with the next goal, as was Falco Walker who passed it to Harding who centred it to Leung and Leung beat the keeper.

Brad Bauer, Danni Condron and Ili Reland came onto the pitch, Reland was unlucky early on, he found himself close to scoring but he was offside, then Cody Bird found himself offside late in the game. Cameron DeSalis who was acting as captain in this one was brought down in the box and he was given a pentalty and he left the keeper dazed and confused and put the goal through.

4 minutes were added on and there was no goal scored, Eddy Donnelly coped himself a yellow card for his attack on Scott Sandars. Tiibesy played the whole game in the goals, Ashie and David Harding where not as active in the game as they were last time out, Harding set up 2 second half goals.

Post Match Analysis

I predicted a Glenorchy win, and they have not raised any eyebrows with their superiority over the Glenorchy Knights. Glenorchy managed to achieved exactly what was expected of them with their four goal win, they showed all the class of a top side in a top league and they showed no mercy when it was time to put the Knights away in the end it was not a game that you would write home about.

It was no where near the qualify of the Tilford Zebras game, though in that game the team took the game a bit easy and let the Zebras back into the game.

Some concerns on Sandars who was injured in this game, there is a heap of talent in this side and there will be someone to replace him, but you never want to lose a player early in the season in a friendly match.

Glenorchy Knights - David Pfeiffer: He made an early mistake, but he managed to recover from that and become one of the better players for the Knights today. Pfeiffer has every reason to be happy about his general perfoamance today, but the mistake that he made early on lead to the Cody Bird goal and that could leave him disappointed in his game. But this was his first game for the Glenorchy Knights and he could almost be forgave for it against a top side like Glenorchy.

Key Man Watch (Glenorchy) Brian Gilligan - A quiet game as apposed to his game last time out against the Zebras he had a decent game though, but it was not particularly outstanding, he made some important tackles, and he made a lot of good ones throughout the game.

Sandars ruled out for a month
by
Brett Stubbs

Following the 4-nil win against the Knights, Glenorchy's Scott Sandars has come down with an injury and will miss at least the next month with a leg injury.

Sandars was brought down in the 20th minute of the game, and was unable to play another minute of the game, with there still a couple of months until the actual season this is not that serious.

The Knights will be keeping a keen eye on the rehabilitation of Sandars as he spends the rest of the month on the sidelines. The next clash for the team will bring in another youth player and there will be more rotations as we come into the pre-season comp.

Glenorchy want to get their players all getting some match fitness, as a few of them lack match fitness as they are a new side, Glenorchy will look to be adding friendly matches along the way.

hobartolympic.jpg
VS
glenmagpies.jpg

Glenorchy have come to play the Hobart Olympic side, as apart of their affiliation and preperation for the season ahead, Glenorchy has been on a role and have been changing the side around again which is going to make it interesting to see how the newer players go. One change for the side was forced as Scott Sandars went down with an ankle injury. This game is going to be interesting to see how Hobart go against a side that has been overaging so far 4 goals a game, and have only given away the 2 goals, which in 2 games brings it to them averaging 2 goals against a game.

Key Man Watch (Hobart) James White: White has come through the TIS and he is a talent that a lot of teams are looking to sign in the major comps, but his loyalty to the Hobart side may see him stay. Unless there is a deal worked out to see him come up into the Glenorchy side. We have picked him out today as the man to watch, I believe that this kid will be wearing a Glenorchy shirt in good time.

Key Man Watch (Glenorchy) Petar Copic: Another one of these talented young Croatian players that have made their way down under, Glenorchy has had a habit of getting some Croatian players come through, as this reputation has seen them come to play with Glenorchy. I believe this defender will be a star as he ages, Croatia would be licking their lips, at the prospect of him playing international football in the coming months.

Hobart Olympic 50-1 Draw: 11-2 Glenorchy: 1-33(fav)

Prediction

Hobart Olympic are going to struggle to contain Glenorchy today, this is going to be a game where if Glenorchy takes it easy they could lose it but they do not look like a team that are going to do this. I am predicting Glenorchy to win this by a big margin. This team does not strike me as a team that will sit back and let the other team dictate terms for a long period of time. I expect to see Glenorchy take care of this side early on and then destroy them later on.

The Match

Today's game belonged to Cody Bird, 8 minutes in and Cody Bird slams home a beautiful goal, same tight defending saw no goals but then Matthew Makepeace was on the end of a nice pass from Scott McKissack saw him score the second goal of the game. Hobart suffered an injured setback with Kane Ireson getting injured in the 20th minute, Cody Bird was again found out in front of the goal and he scored his second. Hobart Olympic didn't know what do do, and when Danni Condron scored his first goal for Glenorchy their nightmare was completed, well for the first half!

Cody Bird's third goal was a bit of magic, a slip up from the goalkeeper saw the ball cleared down his throat and Cody Bird sent a 30 metre pocket rocket straight through to the back of the net. The 2,465 fans at the Athletic Centre agreed that was a beautiful long range shot through the goalkeepers defence.

Ashie went down with an injury after having a blinder before, and having a decent game today the Glenorchy coaching staff would be a little worried, but then Danijel Rakitic popped up and put home a goal it was starting to look like the Knights were going toi win by 10 goals at this rate.

Brad Baur came onto the pitch and he found himself in space and hit a goal, but the goal was disallowed he was offside, but Cameron DeSalis hit Hobart Olympic on a breakaway and he scored a goal. Jimmy Francis chased down the ball he snuck into the box and he managed to gain a goal as well.

Tibesy had shots on goal to save but most of his action came from the defenders giving him the ball, Glenorchy's attack was just too strong and they just murdered Hobart Olympic.

The Majestic added 1 Minutes and 26 Seconds later...

Knights suffer another injury concern
by Jake Taylor

The Glenorchy Knights have suffereed another set back on the weekend, with Ashie suffering fractured ribs during the Knights 8-nil Friendly victory over Hobart Olympic in Hobart.

The Knights' psysio believe Ashie will be out for at least 2 months as her ribs heal, she should be back in the side for the start of the A-League season, she will miss the trip to Los Angeles to play the LA Galaxym and will miss most of the pre-season as well.

Glenorchy left for California this morning and it did nit appear that either Scott Sandars, or Ashie have made the trip the game is apparently being shown live on Southern Cross Television, and Fox Sports live.

Glenorchy psysio Tommy Mendez was asked about the fitness of a couple of players leaving for Los Angeles "We have some concerns about a couple of players, but we should be fine. Harding has appeared to come up tired after running out both of our early pre-season games." mentioned Mendez.

"Ashie should be fine though, I have assessed her riibs and we're hoping for the best there, Sandars' ankle will be fine as well we are going to have light sessions with him in the next 3 weeks." Mendez said when asked about both injuries.

Glenorchy will keep their rotation policy going during the Friendly games they have coming up in hopes to get some players match fit going into the pre-season comp, but the current injury list is a concern early on for the side. But, Glenorchy will have them back luckily for them they are minor injuries at this stage, Glenorchy may look at bringing one of their players into the side from the affiliates.

One name that has been thrown around has been Brad Brazendale, and Abe Nash was another but Abe Nash has elected to stay with the Tasmanian Southern Premier League the American born striker has been said to value clubs that sign him and he is very loyal.

Brazendale has caught the eye of Glenorchy as he was apart of a selected list they were looking at, he could be moved into the side if he agrees to a future contract with the club Brazendale is a Tasmanian born player that has crossed back to this type of football after playing Aussie Rules for the Claremont Football Club.

Brad is a 14 year old striker from Launceston City, he cannot sign a professional contract until he is 17 but the Knights are keen on him if he improves for them, and wishes to become a future star with the A-League.

Key Man Watch

Los Angeles Galaxy - David Beckham: There is no mistaking the talent and the class that oozes from David Beckham, the English captain is expected to cause some headaches for the Knights and might be the man that puts this game beyond the Knights.

Matthew Makepeace - I am very impressed by this youngster, he has been showing the Glenorchy faithful how good he can be for them but the Knights are now against a qualify side and we are going to see how good he can really be against such opponents.

Prediction

This young Glenorchy side are not going to have much chance here against the Galaxy, Los Angeles will not even need their best team out there to beat this mob. The Knights are just going to have to hope there is a way forf them to shut down Beckham and hope that there is no one else ready to step up and score for the Galaxy.

The Odds

Los Angeles 1-10(fav) Draw: 5-1 Glenorchy: 15-1
