I believe that Serbia Montenegro had the best defensive record of any team in european qualifying as well!
There's a warning shot for everyone else and a big incentive for England to win their group rather than be runners up.

oh well, but argentina was something exceptional.all crosses finding their man, all passes bisecting those hapless SCG defence.

After that display, no team would want to face Argentina. Like Colin said to score six goals against a side that had such a good defensive record in the qualifiers is nothing short of amazing.

Easily the best performance we've seen so far in the tournament.

yeah i would agree there... Looking at Argentina ATM i dont think anyone can stop them and they are the favourites for me

Argentina's goals were special but my personal favorite was the second one,the number of passes made and ending with a goal was something great(even though Im an England supporter).

For England topping their group doesnt matter much imo as they'll be facing probably Germany or Ecuador who both seem evenly matched sides,Ecuador imo seem better in the competition so far,it will give them confidence though if they beat Sweden.

Great match so far and although the Dutch were the better side, I dont see any reason why the Ivorians cant get something out of this game.

Can't wait to see Holland and Argentina, should be one of the matches of the tournament. Going forward Holland look awesome. Don't count out the Coast yet, they have talent that can get them something from the game

Everything seemed to clicked for Argentina, not the usual flying over the post shots but actually shots into the goal. That 2nd goal they scored was awesome little flick back and bang into the goal. What a ripper of final match we have installed.

Bakary Kone's goal for Ivory Coast was similar to Owens in 98, he just beat 2 players instead of Owens 4/5.

Argentina were breathtaking.

After glancing at the papers today, it seems like Argentina are now favourites to win the World Cup and I would have to agree with them after Brazil's shaky display against Croatia recently.

Agreed although every game will be like a fresh start. But the momentum is definately with Argentina.

My two favourite teams won: Argentina and the Netherlands. Too bad I couldn't watch the Argentina match, although I really tried to be in time to see it on a screen. Ivory Coast put a lot of resistance against these teams, so they've shown they're a competitive side.

I am already warming up for the match Argentina against the Netherlands. Wednesday 21th June is the day and 19:00 GMT the time.
