Despite our failures in South Africa, I can see us whizzing past the competition at this stage of the WC. West Indies, despite their wins against Australia, haven't posed a threat to Pakistan in quite some time now. I believe our record from the past two ODI series against them is 6-1.

All my eyes on Pakistan, Although we are going through bad time, common boys in Green.

the West Indies Pakistan match will be very close with the windies having home advantage and Pakistan still looking all over the place

This is a more interesting group with 3 test teams and a pretty good Irish team who gave England a run for their money last June. Pakistan and the Windies should ease through but both teams have been very inconsistent over the past year or so, meaning this group is a bit more open than the others.

Ireland seem to dominate the minnow sides so they could be the underdogs for advancement in this weak group.

If it wasn't for Ireland's poor performance in the WCL, I'd have picked them as the best chance of an associate getting throught to the Super 8.

I wud say, Bangladesh to be most dominant for minnows. becos they do have lot of potentials. But anyways they(Bangla) are not there in this group ;)

From this group, WestIndies is one of the strong contenders for the trophy!

* First advantage is Home conditions.
* Second advantage is Lara's captaincy filled with lot of suprises though it may turn as a drawback too.
* Main draw back is, Gayle's inconsistency. If Gayle started to be consistent, the opponents are in trouble without any doubts.
* Inflexible Middle order again with inconsistency there. With Sarwan, Samuels,Lara and Bravo, they can be more strong than they have performed recently. Best example for this inconsistency is CT finals.
* Lara's positive attitude like " Aussies are beatable " is main adavantage as mental strength is needed initially before getting into the field there.

I wud like to see some great performances from this team so called WestIndies :)

Ireland are clear favourites for this group; They'll make mincemeat out of everyone...

I though ed joyce the guy in english team was Irish? anyway I think Windies & Pakistan will go through.

Yeah, he is. Don't get Andrew started ;)
You can all pretty much guess what I'd say anyway.

Fit these phrases into something:

"Fifty games and then switches countries"
"One country in the qualifiers and a different one in the tournament"

Would have been interesting if Dom Joyce had been in the squad. Can't believe there's ever been a case of two brothers representing different countries at the same tournament before.

Lol, so he moved because England have a higher chance then Ireland. :p Their should be a rule made about switching IMO. I think Afridi Played for Irsh team in 2006.
