pakistan beat sri lanka and bangladesh easily in the warm ups and i expect it to be no different in the super 8's.

pakistan vs australia will be a damn exciting match though.

We've always had the wood over Sri Lanka in every format, but I feel they'll be much harder to beat in this format. I'll even go as far as to say that they'll be harder to beat than Australia.

The Key to Sri Lanka is Sanath. Get him and you can restrict them. But thats easier said than done.

Do you remember how the Indians trapped Sanath in the 1996 world cup Semi-final?

Have a long leg and a deep backward square leg and bowl at the pads or his rib cage in the initial overs. He'll hole out there. Or if not at least you can restrict him to singles. Bowl outside the off-stump and he'll murder the bowling even if you have all 11 fielders in the off-side.

Trying to bowl Jayasuriya on his pads undoes bowlers about as much as trying to get him to give an edge. Whatever the plan you simply must bowl accurately. He will take off side bait, but bowlers are rarely confident enough to persist until they find the gap in his armour.

Sri Lanka have yet more firepower after he gets out and that is the quandary for Pakistan; they are outgunned if their bowlers are matched by Sri Lanka's bowlers. They must either find a slight advantage with the ball or step up to another level with the bat.

Pay no attention to the warm-up in which Jayawardena did not bat and Vaas did not bowl. The next matches will be something else.
