Harry Potter Mafia - The End! Abhas/Death Eaters win!

So, what have we got so far? Matt still not posting anything? Well, he's pissing me off now. Why would he be so much a trouble for us?

There are certain roles which can harm the townies. I don't want to state those roles immediately simply because matt can just use what is discussed to his advantage and say that he has that exact role :facepalm
Knowing the fact, he is messing with us, the last thing I need is further poisoned doubts in my mind.
This is why I am waiting for his post. If he decides not to post within the next 12 hours or so let him be hammered.

To be honest if he has a normal role, he would have posted. Either he has a very weird role or just wants to spoil the fun of the game. If this is the case, I'd ask Chez to swap him with some other player.

Wow, I'm just going to come straight out and say it, that's some pretty stupid reasoning.

Did you read even my original post or just look at the bold part:

"Hmmm, Matt or Paki?

Matt's actually posted, but his posts have been idiotic, while Paki hasn't posted at all. Matt's role could possibly have something to do with it (which could backfire on us), so I'll change my lynch to Paki."

In terms of the reason why it happened, I copied the Unlynch/FOS part from another post, and I forgot to change the FOS part. Once I'd realised (two minutes later) I changed it to lynch, like you can clearly see I meant from my first post.

BTW me post is in response to Aray, I didn't see User's posts before.

That is what I am worried about to be honest with you. I guess townies can sustain some losses, but I rather not have them sustain more losses that necessary.

Yes, I did read your post. It states that you will change your lynch to paki (note the future tense). I am not sure if it means within the next two minutes or the next two hours or next two days.
I am just discussing my opinion on what I have read. Please bear in mind, not everything you post might be interpreted as you want people to interpret it.

You reason seems plausible enough, that you cop pasted an identical post
Might I ask whose post have you have you copied it from?
And why were you copying someone's unlynch and lynch post in the first place?

Because when I log on like I do in the morning, I go to the last page that was unread, then open up all the further new pages in tabs.

So I had however many pages at the top, and I just go along them without closing them until I've posted what I'm posting.

IIRC the part I copied was from Bevab's post two pages back after my post. I would have logged back on, gone there and that was the second new post. So pretty much I would have started off looking at it, and eventually copied it over.

The reason I copied it over was because it had Matt121 with the right numbers after his name, and I wasn't sure what the numbers were, so I just decided to copy it over which I might as well of done so I get the numbers and I don't need to write out the other stuff.

If I stated I'll change my lynch in that post, it seems as clear as mud that I'd just do it then, why would I say I'll change my lynch, then just FOS him.
And when I see your post one minute later, why would I straight away decide to lynch him then, after I already said I will lynch him in my above post.

I honestly couldn't care less if you don't believe me now, as I've told you pretty much everything I can.

Fair enough, I guess. Like I said, people may not always interpret words the way you want to them to interpret it.

Thank you for clarifying everything. Like I said, I based it on the fact that its really hard for a person confuse FOS and lynching.
Your reasoning seems concrete and so I am glad I am able to clear out this confusion off my head.

Honestly, if we don't get any help from the write ups, there is no way we can have any substantial discussions. In all games so far we have had enough to get something or the other from the write ups. If this keeps going, all we are going to have is round and round discussions which will land us no where.

So do you think I should hammer Matt now?

I don't know, I really want him to role claim. I personally prefer giving him some time to post before the hammer.
I don't mind if he was a townie and died alone ( he was useless anyways). Its the risk that his death might cause more subsequent harm.

But then again, the vote is in your hands. So you can use that power as you wish.

If there is not much in the writeups it comes down more on the skill of the players to use what they found out during the night and try to slip it into the day phase.

I'll give him another 3/4 hours, but if he hasn't posted anything substantial by then I'll hammer him.

It is only for the players who have some role. For plain townies with no role, only discussions are a way out. It is rather a guess game than a skills game.

I guess this sort of mafia becomes more tactical as a result.
It forces players to not depend on write ups but think independently and outside the box.
We will have mislynches obviously. But the main thing at the end of the game is that one can look over every discussion and discern something from them.
Obviously as players its disappointing when the write up is so thread bare.

But I think we will be able to get a game going whether we have a detailed write-up or not. :)

The plain townies have the most important role. They sustain the discussion and keep it flowing. When there are several vocal townies, it becomes harder for the mafia to find out the power roles. Since everyone looks like a threat.

In the end it will be the surviving townies job to read over the pages of the game from beginning to end and find those clues. They will be out there, but the player has to be smart and look out for them.

Well, I hope we get the right person out today. Nice that Chez has extended the deadline. Should wait for Matt to post now, if he doesn't then we surely should send him out of this as he isn't going to be of any help.

----------

Well, he's online and viewing the thread. Hopefully doesn't leave us red faced now.

Hmmm, he's no longer viewing the thread...

I may wrap this day up in the not to distant future, if he doesn't post soon.

not too* distant future
