How are you doing in ICC? (any version)

Punter made 333 tonight for Somerset. Brilliant stuff at 35 in the year 2010.

That's money, not runs, hehe...

After the quadruple last season I lost two early county champ matches, and drew a LOT in the latter stages of the season, resulting in second spot this year. Won the other three, though...

Now I've taken up England captaincy, won the world cup in a thrilling final against India (to whom I lost in the super eights). The semi's were: England v Sri lanka and India v West Indies (to whom I lost as well). In the final I made 238 before my spinners both got 3 wickets to dismiss India for 170. It was an exciting match, because in the super eights I'd dismissed India for 205, but couldn't reach 150 myself, Ojha and Chawla are a great couple for them...

Then came a tour of New Zealand. This happened in the first test:

It ended up a draw but I couldn't care much, I won the next test by an innings.

Then came the 1st ODI, my first score of 400+ in an ODI, and my best player score, beating 200* in another game. I won by just 144 runs... not to good a bowling performance..

The 4th ODI provided another flat pitch, and I happlily took the opportunity. Williams scored his maiden ODI (fifty and after that) century. I won that one by 295 runs.

Got the top 3 batsmen in the worl at TEST's

1. Geoffrey Langley
2. Alastair Cook
3. Kevin Pietersen

Currently 3-0 up away in west indies with 1 test left :)

EDIT:

Now have 4 best batters at TEST status.

1. Geoffrey Langley
2. Alastair Cook
3. Kevin Pietersen
4. Lawrence Penman

And the best batter in ODI's is....

1. Geoffrey Langley

:D

My season has started well. 2 maximum wins in the CC, with Lamb, Mason and Singh all taking 5 fors and Straus with 2 hundreds in 3 innings the other 45* when chasing 85. Won my OD game too which was great.

Currently 4-1 up in ODI's away in West Indies in which Langley has scored 4 consecutive 100's and scored a 60 in the first match. Breathtaking.

I just won the Challenge Trophy final against Warwickshire in an exciting game.
On a batting pitch, Leathers and Bell made an 135 partnership for the 3rd wicket, when that was finally broken there were no other real partnerships, and they were restricted to 247/9.
In the end their decision to make Ian Bell bowl 10 overs, and my batting order which stretches to no. 9 (bowler averaging 22, with 6 FC fifties) made me win the match because he was the only truly expensive bowler. I batted aggressive against him and more cautious against the others and in the end I won with one over remaining.

And on the back of that comes a great FC victory. Opps: Yorkshire, spinners pitch, I bat first. Make only 212. They make 393. I make 395 with 2 sessions and a couple of overs to go. They need 205 to win. I know I have a small chance. My opening bowlers don't take wickets. Rana (first change) takes one. I put on my spinners for the remaining session-and-a-half. Yorkshire are 136/2. Then they are 147/5. Allrounder & batsman still in. 6-176, 7-176, 8-179, 9-188, 10-188. Yay. Spinners took 9 wickets in 36 overs for 118 runs.

I was given the England captaincy, but finished something like 5-6 in division 2 in CC.

AMAZING COMEBACK

Wow....Amazing comeback from my team Surrey. In this 4 dayer, Sussex had blasted 563 allout. When Surrey's innings started my one and only intention was to avoid a follow-on. But at the end of Day2 when Surrey slumped to 181-6, a follow on was very much on the cards...not to mention..the worry of an innings defeat.

But things changed dramatically on Day 3 as Stewart Walters, who carried his bat, batted brilliantly along with the tail and managed to avoid follow on. In fact, when the 9th wkt fell still I required another 53 to avoid follow on. But even S.Broad joined the run making party & put on 109 for the last wkt.

Continued from the above post...:p

This S.Walters is on FIRE....In the next match agst Glamorgan he hit a 176....He's averaging around 66 in the CC.

That is the slowest innings... if he was on fire id say hes been doused in water

That is the slowest innings...

Ya..agreed..But that innings solved the purpose...He played according to the situation..from 181/6, follow-on staring, he and the tail took the score to 469..Moreover he has a Batting preference of Very Def Style....

With Newman on England Duty and R.Clarke, Benning, A.Mahmood suddenly out of form, Walters has been the main stay....

But one thing is for sure, this guy will sit out during ODI's :p ..thats for sure

I've turned Middlesex into one-day specialists in my first season.......

I am really struggling in this new season. I lost some very good players and have alot of youngsters that aren't very good. I havn't won a match.

Just put all your young players on technique and build for the future, if it looks bleak for the present..........forget about net practice...........

If you are stuck in Division 2 in both leagues then try to earn your income with the Challenge Trophy and Twenty20 Cup..........
