Coming to the end of my first year in my second career after my first was on patch 2 and I have mixed feeling so far.
I started well in A league and FC and also good start with T20 but now it's all failing fast.

The problem for me is the edge system is just not fair, I edge all the time and so do my team mates while I bat but when I
bowl it's the same wickets all the time for me and they are harder than patch 2, bowled, LBW and caught. I have had no edges
in over 30 games to the keeper or slips/Gully or point. Sure I have had a few fall short but they are so rare slips are useless to me.

Now I am wondering is anyone else having the same problem, to make sure members know. I do know how to bowl, I had edges in patch 2 way more often doing the same bowling as now.

My stats for FC batting 33 with best 132 and just two fifties, bowling 24 with 15 wickets no edges and best 4 for 39. 45 maidens.

A league is batting 40 with 3 fifties best of 69 and bowling 10 wickets at 48 with best of 2 for 17.

T20 batting is 40 with one fifty score of 67 not out and bowling 9 wickets at 23 with 2 for 17.

I agree. I was a batting all-rounder in the first patch and I never got had any edges, batting or bowling.

I agree. I was a batting all-rounder in the first patch and I never got had any edges, batting or bowling.

The problem I see is drives at the moment, I have been out to the cover drive 6 out of 8 times in the last 2 days.
Now when my team mates bat with me they also edge drives a lot, so to Bigant can you please look at edges to drives for the AI. In a total of 38 I edges 2 times in this time period both to the cover drive. While bowling. Thanks.

Had a wonderful game but a draw in the end, me and my AI partner put on over 460 runs and the only reason I got out was from trying to hit 6s as I got bored after my 200. Scored 232 and 28 in the second inns, also got 2 wickets, one in each inns.

Still no AI edges of my bowling, I am batting allrounder and never had this much trouble getting edges. I also saw a small problem where the AI stops bowling there spinner or part-timers. I wonder if this needs tweaking also as the fastmen can not bowl all the time.

So my opinion is batting is ace, love the challenge and bowling is ok at best as I bowl with no slips at the moment.

Is there any tailenders in this game?.cos everybody is a pure batsman.the no 9,10,11 playing perfect defence, and good strokeplay.they bat more deliveries (200 deliveries easily)than a proper batsman.and scoring 100s and 50s?

and the edges are pretty onesided now.only the ai bowlers getting wickets via edges..:mad

Update on my attempt to score 100 FC 100s...

actually had to restart the attempt due to a PC issue, and messed up setting up the new career so I'm actually playing as a number 3 batsman. level is Pro, i'm playing for Gloucestershire.

so far 6 games in to the FC season, played 11 innings and scored 1 50 and 1 100, averaging about 30 (down from a high of 81).
in list A i've got one 50 and averaging 33

long story short - 100 FC 100s looking very far off!

So, most of us have had that instance by now where a full blooded pull shot bounces off the short leg and get caught by the bowler. The first time I had that happen to me, I went WOW! - That Was Awesome.

But fast-forward a few months(had the game delivered to me on day 1) and me being the woeful batsman that I am, I'm yet to score a century. Now, you've to be in my shoes to really understand this so just go with it for a while.. I sit down with the PS3 controller, all determined and shit. I then go on to score one of my very very few half centuries - struggling with edges all along but luckily managing to stay not-out. I confine myself to playing shots only off the pads - because I'm too slow to see-n-hit the ball. Now, as I mentioned, despite all my struggles I go on to make a half-century. Call me what you like but if you've been playing the game for months and are yet to score a century - you get really really desperate if there is even the slightest of hopes of a Century. All said and done, I continue to struggle towards that not-to-be maiden 100, slowly reaching a 60+ score. Then, this fast bowler bowls a bouncer and I go about my usual ways pulling the ball but wait, it doesn't go very far. In fact it doesn't go far at all. It bounces, yes 'bounces', from the cemented?? chest of the short leg and lobs up all the way to the bowling-crease at a very comfy waist height to be caught by the bowler. And I go 'ummm... ah.. vo.. ohh!'.

Took me a while to sink the whole incident in but when it did, I felt that may be in real life had a pull shot hit the short leg right on his chest, it probably would have just dropped right there. Probably!

@fiction @BigAntStudios @HBK619 May be scope for a little tweak to the physics off the player's body?

Hmm I get edges when bowling - not a lot, but a few.

Batting is fine for me - I can make the occasional 50, batting number 8.

What difficulty are you playing on? Veteran or Legend Im guessing? Pro is perfect. I'm noticing a correlation of people complaining about too many edges batting/lack of edges bowling to the difficulty they are playing on.

I think the probability of edges when batting and bowling in the higher difficulties might be broken - its to the point of it being too unfair to the player - no amount of hours practicing will overcome this unbalance. This might need tweaking.

Yeah tailenders and low skilled batsmen are waayyyy too hard to get out. I don't think the game reads their skills properly, if at all. Batting skills are essentially redundant it seems. Position in the batting order seems to be the biggest factor as to how well they bat. I find it harder to score with a number 5 than I do with a number 10.

Same with bowling. Familiar patterns are emerging. I frequently have the AI 5/100 odd but their lower order almost always puts up a rear guard action. Never have I been able to run through the rest of the line-up to roll a side under 200. It almost seems like the AI is programmed to reach a certain score and if they are 60/70 runs behind this programmed score at the fall of the 9th wicket then the last two batsmen will bat like Bradman to get there. Particularly noticing this in tours and competition mode. Have just finished a test series where regardless of the fall of early wickets, the AI will recover to make a score between 220-260 on every occasion. And vice versa, if the openers put on a stand of 100+, the rest will collapse so this 'target' score is reached. Playing on Pro that is.

Hopefully just a coincidence. :-)

2nd century still proving elusive. in a rut where i'll get between 20-40 and will without fail edge behind a shot i've been creaming all innings. once or twice i can say yeah the line was a bit different, but sometimes just seems random. very frustrating because i started very well.

For my team batting I think this is true.

As a kind of experiment a while back I restarted the same match 4 times and every time my batsman came in at #5 and the score was always around 50/3. It was never lower than 50/3 and it never reached 60/3.

:cheers won the english t20 cup..
this career player is my third character.previous two are one dimensional.batting only, even though they are all rounders.so my third guy is an bowling all rounder.plays for somerset.bats at no 5.
i'm enjoying it so far.hope to play his whole career.
back to the t20 cup,scored a match winning 100,got couple of wickets.and MotM.:thumbs
expecting selection from aus t20,very close to shield, 50 over cup,and ipl.

Playing career after a break....Getting off to good start but not converting them into 50s and 100s.....So far 34,28,19....

I scored 3 50s in my new career today in a row in first class. Really struggling with my form in the shorter formats.

I have hit another drop in form after a promising beginning to post-patch ps3 gameplay. Averaged 35ish in FC through 10+ innings at the end of last season and came close to a century. In the new season though I've hit a roadblock and looking at sub-20 averages in FC and List A (nearing the English T20 comp) with zero 50's almost through the first half of the season.

Strangely, I have started to feel like I'm a sitting duck outside off stump just waiting to feed the keeper/slips with edges - whereas during my strong finish to the previous season I was playing freely around the wicket (admittedly with some falling short and/or wide of the slips/keeper). I am wondering if there has been a subtle change to my timing or footwork over the past while, or perhaps I followed a streak of good luck with a streak of poor luck.

Have been making regular starts at least, and took two MoM awards in List A with 30-40 runs and a couple wickets per game (I am specialist #5 bat but regularly bowl 3-6 of the death overs in List A).
