Got my first 50 partnership tonight, take a bow Cameron White for babysitting me pushing singles to the other end. Batting becoming slightly easier now I'm getting more skill points per match, got my highest score yet in the first innings (38) along with almost seeing the team home in the second innings (18, caught at... You guessed it, MID OFF) neading 108 to win I was able to hang around until Victoria only needed 60 so job done well enough, first victory for a while and one I played an active part in.
Reduced shot selection completely now, no power shots whatsoever, just timing the ball really well when the ball is there to be hit... Biggest weakness is remembering I can cut the ball, too many times I'm spooning it up on the offside to whomever the prick fielding at mid-off is, taking a break playing some cricket on his holiday from f&[HASHTAG]#king[/HASHTAG] Krypton no doubt...
Also have a couple of amazing videos for you too, phone quality but the first is a wonderful dismissal in an ODI where I was caught at gully pushing hard at a shorter pitched delivery using the "aggressive ground" buttons. First and last time I use them in career mode...
The second one, well I'll let you enjoy it but turns out @
zombieian got what he wanted @
blockerdave, footwork not required...
If there's two things that consistently blows my mind it's the sound and the physics in this game, actually flawless representations of the way cricket should feel and sound. The number of times I've blocked a delivery and had roll into my pads or gone back when I should have gone forward and have it bounce back towards the stumps... Beautiful to watch. Edges are frequent and logical, the ball acts like a cricket ball should... The sounds of the crowd ebb and flow with the action occurring, they chant for hat tricks and go silent for slow periods of play.
Once the superhuman and run out glitches are fixed it'll be a beautifully ambient soundscape to enjoy, the crazy fielding and constant bowlers-end run out attempts ruin the sonics slightly, but when I connect with a solid shot and get a boundary, it looks and sounds like cricket. That's really the biggest compliment I can give!
