How are you going in International Cricket 2010?

I'm doing a Test Match on easy at the moment and I'm currently 211-0 off 7 Overs. Struass and my Created player are going at a strike rate of 5 each! My created played has hit 16 sixes and 6 fours, and Struass has hit 16 sixes and 4 fours.

It is at Zimbabwe, a very small pitch between England (me) and Bermuda.

I want to see If I can bat the whole 5 days, and see how many runs I get.

Hmmm, each to there own i guess.

Update on my Slog match:

A. Struass 370 (71) (15x4 51x6)
(Created) D. Stewart 421 (76) (9x4 64x6)

801-0 after 24.0 overs. 33.36 run rate, I'm slowly nudging it up to 34.

Australia (me) v England

This is my first match on hard, just an exhibition no series. For the clash I put Flintoff in place of Collingwood for England while Cameron White and Brett Lee come in for North and Hauritz. England won the toss and chose to bat first.

The game, like Ashes 09 really moves quickly, at Lunch England are 131/6.

Lee was the early destroyer and as he does in the real world he also went for runs. Near the end of the session I brought on White who looked more like Warne he had Bell and Prior in consecutive deliveries. At one stage Trott and Flintoff looked set but once Trott went England then lost 3-29 before the break. Now the innings looks to be resting on Flintoff.

England 1st Innings 159 off 42.4 overs
Trott 46 (62) White 5-24 (8.4)
Flintoff 45 (58) Lee 3-48 (9)
Pietersen 16 (28) Hilfenhaus 2-40 (13)

End of Day One- Australia 198/6 in 1st innings after 46 overs, lead by 39 runs
Johnson 52* (46) Swann 4/61 (11)
Haddin 49* (55) Anderson 1/51 (13)
Katich 44 (91)

Update, As of Lunch Day two I have been bowled out for 235 Swann was my biggest killer taking 5 wickets, Haddin and Johnson saved the day.

1st Innings - England 159 off 42.4 overs
Trott 46 (62) White 5-24 (8.4)
Flintoff 45 (58) Lee 3-48 (9)
Pietersen 16 (28) Hilfenhaus 2-40 (13)

1st Innings - Australia 235 off 55 overs
Haddin 58 (65) Swann 5/81
Johnson 55 (54) Anderson 2/58
Katich 44 (91)

Lunch Day Two - England 2nd Innings 88/3 after 21 overs Lead of 12 runs
Trott 48* (64) White 1/6 (3)
Pietersen 26 (39) Lee 1/22 (4)
Strauss 5 (18) Johnson 1/29 (6)

I did Bermuda (me) vs England on hard in a test match at the Oval. Batting and bowling no Hud at all!

I batted first, and as batting was so ridiculously unbelievably hard, I decided to block out until lunch and see what I should do next. By lunch on day 1, I had all ten wickets in hand, but only 20 runs on the board. Both batsmen had strike rates extremely low. James Anderson had bowled 7 overs for 7 maidens!

Soon after lunch I eventually lost a wicket whilst trying to pushi on a bit. But still got to tea with 9 wickets in hand and 57 runs on the board. I was still doing 1 an over though, but in the final 10 overs when the new ball came on I got around 40 runs in those 10! End of day 1 and I was 135-1 after 90 overs, for a team like Bermuda against a team like England I have to say that isn't that bad! Extras helped me out as well, with 22 of them no balls and a couple of wides.

I then decided to try and get a move on in the morning, but it didn't go to well :( I lost 2 wickets in quick succession and soon after that I decided to stay quiet and block everything again. I still had K. Demp out there though, probably Bermuda's batsmen. He just passed his 50, but from around 200 balls though!

I made it to lunch with the score at 205-3 after 120 overs. But straight away after lunch Swann bowled very well, I lost 3 quick wickets and suddenly found my self on 230-6. But Demp was still out there, slowly moving towards a well deserved hundred. But he would have to wait until the evening session. The score was 279-6 at tea on day 2, Demp was on 97, and had been fathering the strike. The evening session like Day 1's evening session, it had more runs in it than the the morning and afternoon sessions. Demp got his 100 finally, and as him and the tail-ender pushed on, the run rate was starting to increase. And Bermuda were 371-6 at the end of day 2. I finally managed to get the run rate above 2 an over!:cheers

Day 3, and Bermuda were still batting. Demp was hogging the strike as the runs tally started to push up, and Bermuda reached 400. But soon after, Demp was out for 152. And after that the tail couldn't hang around for long and I was finally bowled all out for 438 from 207 overs. A good performance!

England decided not to use my tactic of defending everything and decided to go for it. After 14 overs they had already passed 100 with 10 wickets in hand. At tea the score was 167-0. Struass and Cook both on 70 odd. But the partnership was eventually broken with a wicket from Demp. An Lbw which was defiantly not out, but for some reason the umpire given it. Hawkeye suggested it missed off stump by at least 4 inches. But I well, I will take it:yes

But they made to to the end of Day 3 on 303-1. Demp pick of the bowlers with 32-3-124-1. Next morning though England went for it again, but it was costly. Demp got him self another wicket, this time bowled. And the Leverick got him self one caught behind. At lunch the score was 422-3. I decided to stay with Demp and Leverick bowling, see what would happen. It was working fine, and I got my self 2 more wickets. Both from Demp. But Prior and Collingwood stayed out there, and for the first time ever I would be playing on Day 5. At tea, England were 595-5, Prior and Colly were still batting! I finnally got them both out, Demp got one and the other was a run out. Demp had just bowled his 62nd over! And as we approached the end of day 4, I decided to end his spell and brought on someone else. And on the morning of day 5 I finally broke the partnership and England were all out for 680.

I decided to go for the draw, I am currently 36-4 off 37 overs. 4 overs from tea. I'll tell you If I made it to the end or not tomorrow, but right now I need some sleep.:)

don't lofted shots work easily as a get-out-of-jail card, as mentioned in the Planetcricket official review?

Not in my opinion, even with hud on you will not score unlimited 6's like you think, dont get me wrong they are slighly easier than they should be but you will learn the hard way if you just keep slogging.
The worst part in the offline game is that the ai cant post a decent enough score to keep it interesting, if the ai get to 200 plus then that is seen as good.

Update!

I held out for a draw, my first draw ever on any cricket game and finished on 78-6. As I had 5 wickets in hand in the last few overs I went for it, lost a wicket but I scored 24 runs off the last 3 overs. And I finally made it to the end! Great achievement!:cheers

Guys, does anybody know if winning the World Trophy playing 50 over ODI's unlocks the Puma batting pads, gloves, wicketkeeping gloves and wicketkeeping pads? Because I have just started one, i'm into my second game and would hate to do the whole tournament for nothing.

I have got back to playing this game - you can get AI to post something of a total but it requires lots of stat editing.

I am currently working on the AI spin bowling. Hate the fact right arm off spinners don't go round the wicket to left hand batsman, resulting in a lot of leg side deliveries bowled.
However by reducing accuracy of the bowler, and increasing his pace value (which bizarrely reduces his actual pace in game, meaning more turn) results in better lines being bowled

Sold my copy of the game today :)

Put it on craigslist and some Indian guy bought it from me for $50 :lol

I paid $43 after shipping for it :D

Hey Zim! Loved your stat-editing on Cricket 07! Will you be telling us what your edits are?

Can do - shame cannot upload my options file to Xbox Live or something.

I have edited so much it's ridiculous (just to get a half decent game)

There are some very good points to this game - shame about the complete lack of situational AI and usual crap default fields though....

I just started a 5 match series between England(me) and India on hard.

1st test match I had India on 5-4 but they thought back and are now on 140-7:mad. Gotta try and avoid them getting 200.
