The Times of India is a world renown newspaper, don't need your approval thank you very much.:)
Are they the same people who said that Mohammad Yousuf was out drinking in 2007?

Really? Let me search first! is that confirm? fixed? i don't think so ! if yes are the English and Aussie ready?

Let's just say if it is in Pakistan it will be a Championless Trophy.

PCB wants the ICC task force to come after Independence day

KARACHI: The Pakistan Cricket Board is reluctant to receive the ICC special task force, which will review security arrangements for the Champions Trophy, before the Independence Day of the country.

The PCB today refused to reveal when the task force will come to Pakistan but sources said that it would reach Pakistan on August 10 on a four or five-day inspection visit.

"The dates of visit for the task force are still being sorted out and we will announce them soon," one official said.

Can we ban all articles from the Times of India related to Pakistan or Pakistan cricket?

None of the articles shown related to Pakistan cricket (in this thread) in The Times of India appear on ANY OTHER source.

The fact that they had a story in 2007 about Mohammad Yousuf getting drunk in a bar in India is enough information for me to believe the source is not trustworthy as far as Pakistan cricket is concerned. While they may report on facts, such as matches, you cannot possibly be called trustworthy when running such a story.

There are a few things to be noted here. This article says the PCB is "reluctant" to receive the ICC special task force. In my opinion, this implies that the PCB is unwilling or does not want to receive the task force, which is not true. The PCB is completely open to receiving the task force at any time.

It also says we have "reservations" of the task force coming before August 14.

Secondly, there are no names in this shameless article. "One official said" - 9 times out of 10, its fake

Also "sources said" - ridiculous. If you're going to run a story, you need to put in names and make yourself accountable.

If an offical said that, you need to quote him, so if he challenges that, you an present an argument with an audiotape or likewise proof.

I understand the whole "Officials aren't suppoused to talk about it to the media or it might cost them their job", but you've had dodgy headlines in the past. Who is to say this isn't another. Especially when you've ran ridiculous stories on occasions.

I will quote what Cricinfo says on the matter, which is definitely a better source than the Times of India as far as these matters are concerned.

Cricinfo said:
There are some concerns, however, surrounding the timing of the visit, which takes place just before August 14th, Pakistan's Independence Day. Security officials the task force is likely to meet are expected to be busy with preparations.

This is an acceptable situation, as the security officials have to prepare security for the diplomats, important government people, and the President. These same security officials are preparing for the the security for the ICC Champions Trophy.

I have a huge problem with this article, and the manner that it presents the situation as I have highlighted above :) But its also not the article's fault. I apologize to nikhil, but part of the problem is the section that he has taken out.

I would accept the article as slightly factual, however, it is exaggerating the situation on hand. There are certainly better newspapers in India, which do not exaggerate a situation such as this. I am not saying the entire newspaper is bad, but some of the writers need to be fired or do some major work.

/End rant.

I just shared the article related to CT2008,there was no other intension of hurting anybody's feelings, because the event is coming closer, and everybody is looking at Pakistan as host CT,i thought pasting the article would be better for planet cricket people to view it.

No.

Cricinfo does that on many a occasion.
Yes, they are. I clearly remember the Times of India :)

Cricinfo can do it because they are a trusted news outlet, unlike the Times of India.

Also nikhil, I know you had no bad intentions, but I just feel that the source you have used is not a very good one :)

"There is a credible threat in all the major cities in Pakistan, including those which are hosting the event, and they expect bombing in the coming week. So it's what we are concerned about," Marsh the Chicken told the Geo News channel in a telephone interview.

This was a statement 3 weeks ago. And no bombings since.

Brilliant intelligence by Marsh. Seriously.

Is that Shaun Marsh?

I like the professionalism of the journalists. "Marsh the Chicken".

Pathetic.

Actually, the journalists didn't put Marsh the Chicken, that was me :)

And it is actually Paul Marsh, chief executive of the ACA.

I forgot to add the source - http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2008/07/24/2312817.htm

Also, stop veering from the discussion :p

I am still waiting for the bomb blast here in Pakistan that was announced by Marsh 3 weeks ago. He said it was in the coming week, so its been 2 weeks.
