hw much more real can this get? Yasir gettin caught in the slips and Razzaq comin up with a superb cameo...its Cricket at its best! Flintoff has a huge role to play for ya guys to win...gdluck!!!

Good luck indeed, although the conditions are good for batting and some of your players are in real form after trouncing Zimbabwe. I predict an England win and a Flintoff century.

well mate...Flintoff's form was crucial in this game....but England have been thrashed by Pakistan....and are now virtually out of the tournament.

UPDATE:
England 109 all out (25.2 Overs)
C. Read 30(40)
A. Flintoff 24(33)

PAKISTAN WIN BY 195 RUNS

England have suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of Pakistan, losing by almost 200 runs. Chasing a mammoth target of 305 under lights, England got off to the worst start possible when Marcus Trescothick was run out, thanks to a direct hit from Imran Farhat. Things then went from bad to worse, as England lost Vaughan, Strauss, Bell, and Collingwood cheaply. Flintoff and Blackwell did steady things a bit, but couldnt last long either. Chris Read top scored with 30 from 40 balls, as England collapsed to 109 all out in just 25.2 overs.
England are now effectively out of the ICC Champions Trophy, as it is unlikely that Kenya will cause an upset against Pakistan. After the match, England captain Michael Vaughan blamed fatigue for this side's poor show.
"We have been playing cricket almost continuously since our tour to New Zealand. All the players were exhausted and were not able to put in a 100%. But, I dont want to give any excuses, as we were completely outplayed today."

Next Match:England v Kenya at Bangalore

If you beat kenya will you still progress in the trophy or will be out due to the loss to Pakistan.

well if pakistan beat kenya....then england are out.

if kenya beat pak...and eng beat kenya then the team with the highest points go through. Remember Pakistan won all six points after beating England (including the bonus point). If the points are also equal, then the team with the highest NRR will qualify.

England have scored a mammoth 355-5 in 50 Overs against Kenya in Bangalore. Full details of the England innings coming up. Marcus Trescothick top scored with 122 of 137 balls, which included 13 fours.

ENGLAND v KENYA
ICC CHAMPIONS TROPHY
Bangalore

Welcome to Bangalore for this ICC Champions Trophy match between England and Kenya. England are virtually out of the tournament, after suffering a humiliating defeat of a 195 runs at the hands of Pakistan at Calcutta. Kenya on the other hand will be playing their first match of the tournament, and if they beat England here today, then the final group game against Pakistan will be for a place in the semi-finals.

The Conditions: Its pretty hot and humid here. The sun is shining brightly and there are absolutely no clouds in sight. The England players could have a tough time in this extreme heat and humidity.
conditions.jpg

The Pitch: It is a very dusty wicket, and has a lot of runs in it. It is a more sporting wicket as compared to the "dead" one we had at Calcutta, but it should be pretty difficult for the bowlers to get any assistance from the pitch. Batting second would be my choice, since this is an early nine o'clock start, and there is will some dew in the morning, giving some early assistance to the bowlers.

The Toss: Steve Tikolo won the toss and elected to field first.

The Teams: England have two changes. Kevin Pieterson and Rikki Clarke replace Ian Bell and Paul Collingwood respectively.
Kenya will be fielding their default cricket 2004 database side.

UPDATE:
England 355-5 (50 Overs)
M. Trescothick 122(137)
M. Vaughan 68(55)
A. Strauss 47(51)
R. Clarke 42*(28)

M. Odumbe 2/55

KENYA NEED 356 RUNS TO WIN

England got off to a flying start, with both Vaughan and Trescothick playing some fantastic shots. England were scoring at over 7 runs per over, at the end of the 1st 15 overs were 114-0. Vaughan played well in his innings of 68, which included two sixes, before he was run out. Strauss came in and started off exactly where Vaughan had left, and along with Trescothick built another 100+ run partnership, before he too was run out for 47. Marcus Trescothick went on to score a fine century, before being dismissed for 122. Flintoff, Pieterson, Clarke, and Blackwell played their part at the end, in increasing the scoring rate and taking England to a massive score of 355. Kenya have a very tough task in hand now. England would atleast want to bow out of this tournament in style.

Stay tuned to this thread for the Kenyan reply.

Pakistan now head the group with 6 points, with England second also with 6 points, however have a slightly inferior NRR. Kenya are third, with zero points.
