Wikipedia said:
The Cricket World Cup is the premier international championship of men's One Day International (ODI) cricket. The event is organised by the sport's governing body, the International Cricket Council (ICC), with preliminary qualification rounds leading up to a finals tournament which is held every four years. The tournament is the world's fourth largest and most viewed sporting event. According to the ICC, it is the most important tournament and the pinnacle of achievement in the sport. The first Cricket World Cup contest was organised in England in 1975. A separate Women's Cricket World Cup has been held every four years since 1973.
The finals of the Cricket World Cup are contested by all ten Test-playing and ODI-playing nations, together with other nations that qualify through the World Cup Qualifier. Australia has been the most successful of the five teams to have won the tournament, taking four titles. The West Indies have won twice, while India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka have each won once.

This story will deal about the ICC Cricket World Cup, 2011, which is being hosted by India. The tournament will feature 12 teams, 68 matches which will be played in 10 venues, all over India.

"All set for a big production" CEO Lorgat.
3rd January, 2011, Mumbai.
Haroon Lorgat, the CEO of the ICC Cricket World Cup, 2011, said that the everything was ready for the mega tournament. He basically went to the venues and checked the things over there. Dharamsala, which was given the chance to host an ODI between India and New Zealand recently, has proved that it can be suited for hosting an ODI match, which offered it hosting few World Cup games.

"Cricket, for Indians, is not just a game." Haroon Lorgat.

Haroon Lorgat said "I've checked every venue along with other officials and I've observed that the scenario is completely different from what I've noticed in the initial stage. Dharamsala will host few World Cup games, which we earlier kept under observation keeping the pitch and climatic conditions in mind." On the security, he said that he had deep talk with Indian ministry regarding it and he's satisfied with what is being provided.

"Cricket, for Indians, is not just a game. The way tickets are getting sold is something like a waterfall. The tickets for the Opening Ceremony, Opening match, all Indian based matches, Semi Final matches, Final match are completely sold right before 47 days of commencement of the tournament, which is something to be noted. This will be a dream tournament ever in the history. I'm waiting with anticipation to witness the matches with overflowing crowds, going on at a noisy stadiums." Lorgat added.

On re-scheduling, which came into light after state associations demanded for at least one Indian match in their venue, he said that modified schedule was already prepared and has been done in such a way that every venue gets at least one match of India.

"What has to be done is just the things which have to be done in last movement. The advertisements are being set up in several posters of all the metros. All the Indian Trains have been designed with Cricket World Cup pattern and there is a special train, which will start on 6th January from Chhtrapathi Sivaji Terminus, Mumbai. It'll initially pass through all the hosting cities (except Dharamsala) and then to all other cities, when the event is under progress." said Lorgat.

No Kenya and Canada?

Actually, I don't follow those teams much. TBH, I don't follow even Zimbabwe Cricket, Ireland and Netherlands much. But still, I can do something with them, as I have bit of knowledge on those teams. :)

Gotta go with the home country Australia here. The first pool will be a hard one to pick. With Australia, England and India fighting out the honors, while pool B would be the first 3 teams as well, New Zeland, Sri Lanka and South Africa.

Group A is an easy one to predict. Australia, England, India and Pakistan to qualify to the QFs.

Group B looks a bit more interesting. There would be a tough competition between New Zealand and Bangladesh to be the fourth team qualifying for the QFs.

You could see tough fights in Group A with England, Australia and India, but I don't same gonna happen in other group.
If India wanna win the WC, they need to work really hard.

India Squad- ICC Cricket World Cup, 2011.
Team India, the proud hosts of the ICC Cricket World Cup, have announced their 15 man squad for the ICC Cricket World Cup. They are the current no.1 test Team and no.2 ODI team, who have been playing pretty strong cricket since an year. Team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been planning for the World Cup since eight months, along with the coach Gary Kirsten and the BCCI selection committee.

The Indian chief selector, Mr. Krishnamachary Srikkanth has announced Indian squad 40 days right before world cup and 32 days right before their first official practice match against Australia. "We've been planning for this world cup for more than half an year, and the day has come for us, to announce the squad. We have to thank Indian Premier League, which has clearly put out many uncapped players into lime light and helped us to form this kind of side. Now, I'd like to read out the side, which we've made after deep deep discussions in telephone with MS Dhoni and Gary Kirtsen, who are currently in South Africa. Mahendra Singh Dhoni (Captain), Virender Sehwag (Vice Captain), Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar, Gautam Gambhir, Suresh Kumar Raina, Yusuf Khan Pathan, Virat Kohli, Saurabh Sunil Tiwary, Zaheer Khan, Harbhajan Singh, Praveenkumar Sakat Singh, Santakumaran Sreesanth, Pragyan Prayish Ojha, Ranganath Vinay Kumar and Ravichandran Ashwin."

PS: The ages of the players are when the World Cup starts, not the current ones.

That's a strong 15 man squad for India. There first match against Australia will certainly test them out and see where they're at in this tournament.

great to see dharamsala hosting matches, a pleasant change from the other grounds in india. although i think that there should be a grass bank on the stadium this provides a more comfortable relaxed feel to the ground.

India's squad is quite strong. Youngsters like Tiwary, Kohli, Mishra and Ashwin have got the chance to represent their country in the world cup and I hope they'll do well.

Keep up the good work, Binnu.
