Why would you ‘rest’ Shami who has only played half of the games that Bumrah has?
Probably because the former is prone to injuries and we can't afford to risk him at this stage. I don't see a problem in it tbh.

On the other hand, this just confirms that Mayank is pretty much a ‘break glass in case of emergency’ selection for Rahul if the latter’s back problems got serious.

I was so excited to watch him. But yeah honestly it's a good decision. :thumbs[DOUBLEPOST=1562414034][/DOUBLEPOST]
What's there to worry about? We have already qualified and the position in the top 4 shouldn't matter because you ought to be ready for any opposition.

In fact, better to have a horrible performance in this match and use it as a wake up call rather than let it happen in the knockouts.

Yes I agree to it. I also thought the same thing. We have to do well at any cost. Good dress rehearsal for a knockout is important.

Both Matthews and Thirimanne has incredible record against India and have made some very good partnerships against them. I wouldn't be surprised if they can get to 300 here

Jadeja could be a really useful option on these drier pitches as the economical spinner while the other four bowlers all try to bowl aggressively. Added with the extra batting depth he brings, it’s easy to see why he’s an appealing option right now.

This has been a much better knock from Mathews so far compared to his performance versus England. Can see them serving a target of 270-280 if these two stick around for sometime with Perera and Udana yet to come. This would perfectly be in line with Dhoni’s sights and I wouldn’t be surprised if he played an important part today.

This Angelo Matthews knock would've certainly silenced his critics back home. What a wonderful innings he has played today !! :cheers

I hope, India are not looking at Jadeja and Pandya as 4th and 5th bowlers. That is a disaster waiting to happen in my book.

Looking at Rohit's good footwork very early in his innings I can see a big score coming from him :spy

Some class batting on offer today by Rohit Sharma equally complemented by KL Rahul's flair.

Sri Lanka scored 264 and Rohit Sharma scored that in one inning...that too against Sri Lanka haha, it's just interesting.
India should chase that down...don't see them losing this match.

673 will it be broken? Hayden was so close in 2007 but its Rohit Sharma's chance now.

From a player averaging less than 30 after 80 games in ODIs to scoring 5 centuries in a single World Cup tournament, Rohit’s redemption arc is perhaps one of the greatest in sporting history! :clap

Sharma Ji has lost his mind. Boys, this is looking like a NZ IND and ENG AUS semis now.

Don't know why Virat has come to bat now !

We are entering the knockouts . Give Karthik a chance now for practice .
