Rain interruptions forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday (if we go into reserve day). And its going to be overcast throughout

We could very well have a top order collapse against NZ's seamers (warm-up game like, where we never recovered)

We even had Overcast skies during the Sri Lanka game but there was no swing whatsoever. We can't say anything about the swing before the match starts. And Manchester has a fair bit of bounce in the surfaces and pitches are generally flat. If we play like we played in the Pakistan game I don't see any problem. We just have to get our basics right and not over do anything which can hamper our progress in the tournament. Just hope we reach Lord's to play either England or Australia.

A bit off-topic:
So far my prediction of India v/s Australia final is going right :p[DOUBLEPOST=1562589317][/DOUBLEPOST]
There could be a downside to that too. It means our middle order remains untested during the first 10 overs.

And we don't want that to happen now either. In knock-out matches if you lose early wickets you don't have enough chances to win

Wow

This guy went must have sh*t for brains

Yes, although our middle order has been an issue for quite a while now. Dhoni should be batting up the order at 4 while it looks balanced now with DK in but they've still never really outperformed what the top order could pull off.

I hope rain doesn't occur and spoil the game, and yes there's always a possibility but looking at our current form I hope our top order won't fall for cheap. If there's swing we got good pacers as well like Bhuvi so it'd be a good contest overall. Looking forward to tomorrow. :)

I'll have Kuldeep in place of Jadeja rest of the line-up is pretty much predictable with the form we are in. And I think we should play both leg-spinners and Bhuvi unfortunately misses out

I agree with Sachin and feel both Jadeja and Shami should play the semifinal tomorrow. Chahal should continue to sit out, and Kuldeep should be the lone leggie and Jadeja should be the second spinner. I know Shami leaks runs but his strike rate is much better than Bhuvi and his wickets column this WC speaks for it. Also with rain looming in the horizon, it makes a better case to pick the bowler who possesses a better chance of picking wickets. Since Jadeja is playing, Bhuvi's batting is not as needed. Jadeja plays the containing role while Kuldeep attacks.

I don't think Mayank will play unless an injury happens. Rahul to continue at the top, with Pant/Pandya at No. 4. I hope with us now in the knockout stages, Dhoni goes out slogging. This will be my XI for tomorrow for India (in this exact order):

Rohit, Rahul, Kohli, Pant, Dhoni, Hardik, Karthik, Jadeja, Shami, Kuldeep, Bumrah

Same side from my end.

Looks good. Only thing better would be Dhoni coming in at 4. Especially if we lose early wickets. But just dont see this management trying Dhoni at 4 ever

I also agree that Dhoni should come out at 4 if we lose early wickets. They sent out Shankar at 4 when India lost early wickets against Afghanistan. Now with no one else in that Shankar style of play, Dhoni is that only option. Especially when we have Pant, Hardik and Karthik who all thrive when they can have the license to hit out.

But if the openers do decently well and India are in a decent position, I am sure Kohli will send Pant and Hardik ahead. Personally, I would want Dhoni in at 5 after Pant even if the openers do well. Send Dhoni out with a clear message to him for rotating strike. If he is sandwiched between Pant and Hardik, either of them can hit while Dhoni rotates strike. Dhoni cannot play out dot balls anymore. If that's fixed, that's more than enough.

Please, for the love of God, do not give these people the exposure on proper cricket forums. These people are leeches and are precisely looking for this attention. I have been fed up with cricket media for a while but this world cup has taken it to new lows.

I understand the unease from Indian fans here. I think it's a sign of respect for the opposition, and that's a good thing. I however, viewing from the outside, think India are placed really well. It's incredible to think that Kohli hasn't even been their best batsman and they've done so well. Barring something extraordinary, India should have the the upper-hand. New Zealand are good on their day too, but India is a such a complete team. I feel that if India do get through, the next match will be much more difficult to call irrespective of whether it's Australia or England.

Anyone can beat anyone on a given day, but I have never felt that man to man any team bar England can beat India consistently. And that too, it is just in these conditions. I think the depth, balance and resources we have is unparalleled. If we had a management that was consistent, this 'wobbly' middle order scenario wouldn't have existed.

NZ will be a force to reckon with tomorrow if it decks around. If not, their attack can be quite one dimensional. For them to beat India, their top order has to get some runs and Mr.Taylor needs to make it count. Williamson & Boult are doing too much on their own.

If I were part of the NZ management, I am putting Latham up top with Guptill. I know Latham plays spin well, but it's better to get a solid start and hope he's around when the spinners get inserted. The way NZ's top order has played, you almost feel that their innings is beginning at 20-2.

The wrist spinners have been really successful versus NZ in recent times, but on the other hand cloudy conditions could necessitate the inclusion of an extra quick bowler. The wristies haven’t set the stage alight so far either. If these are fresh pitches, I don’t think Jadeja should play.

On an unrelated note, really love how Rohit has turned into a Dhawan-esque aggressive opener once the latter got injured, in order to ease Rahul in. Shows that the very best players can adapt their games to suit the team and conditions on any day.
