Why are we playing so many batsmen? It is surprising to see Kohli ditch his 5 bowler policy in such an important game.

We've played Jadeja in place of Kuldeep which breaks our combination of playing five bowlers but he's performing well with the ball, he's getting the turn plus got one already and is excellent in the field. And he's decent with the bat so his case is pretty solid.

Bhuvneshwar has always been a pure bowler so I don't know where you got that from, except lately he showed he can bat a bit as well and I don't think he's picked over Shami because of the batting factor.

Nowdays Bhuvi's inclusion in the XI is now looked upon his batting capabilities a lot more than it used to be when he was viewed upon as a "pure" bowler. Given the batting successes that he's had over the last few years, it's fair to say he's viewed as somewhat as a bowling allrounder within the XI as there really isn't any batting strength in the lower order.

This is some good tight bowling from India but it looks like NZ want to keep wickets in hand for the rest of the batting order to blast away in the final 10-15 overs. Need Williamson's wicket badly.

Surprising to see Jadeja playing ahead of Kuldeep, but he seems to be doing well. Did NZ make a mistake in not playing Sodhi?

Doubling the score from now will give NZ a total of around 250, which I don’t think would be sufficient for them to defend unless Boult or Henry has a monster spell with the new ball. But unless we force a runout here, they could take NZ to even 280 which would be a lot more difficult to chase.

This has been a really poor innings from Roscoe, Williamson started to be too aggressive after realising that he had to do it all by himself yet again and promptly loses his wicket. He’s the most experienced player in this lineup and shouldn’t be playing this nervously.

If only this match was Pakistan vs India, New Zealand are going to post a low total, they struggling against this bowling attack.

I think 250 would be par on this pitch, NZ batsmen have just been too cautious in the hopes of catching up in the death overs. Taylor should have realised that there’s still four players that are all competent batsmen after him and they’ve also got Henry who can bat decently for a tailender.

Pakistan would still be in similar or worst position. What makes you think they can play better and compete better then NZ? You guys struggled too against the same bowling lineup minus Jadeja. I do not understand why other teams downplay NZ so much. Yes they lost few matches coming into semis and Pakistan did the opposite but NZ have been all three semi finals in last 3 WC's. When was the last time Pakistan qualified for any semis?

They lost to all the teams in the top 5 expect India which was rained off, Pakistan beat New Zealand and England but because of 1 really bad lost and a rained off match they didn't make it.

So suck it up, you lost to West Indies and were hammered, blame that match more then that rained off match. Also its absolutely insulting for NZ team for others to say they do not deserve it. If Pakistan wanted it so badly to be in final 4, they should have atleast shown some effort and willingness in the Bangladesh game. Yes they won that match but batting first they showed no whatsoever intent. So suck it up, hope for a better team next WC which will be in India as you will have a better chance. Also instead of blaming things on weather and other factors, try qualifying for semi's on your own strength and do not expect other teams to do you a favor.

We've bowled really well so far, may not have got wickets but the pressure was always on. We should not let them go past 250/60.

The fact is we can't really judge the pitch by watching, maybe it's tough to bat on. Predicting the ideal score on this one would be tough but I reckon we can still chase around 280 on this pitch given our batting unit but NZ may not really go past 220-30 here. So the match is still under our control I believe.

Out of the last 10 overs to go both Bumrah and Bhuvi have 3 each left to bowl with five fielders outside the ring it would be a tough task for their batsmen to score big.
