Great batting in the end by India. Yes, the pitch is an absolute belter but knowing our penchant to slow down at crucial moments, we held our nerve well today to breach that 350 mark. All of them were brilliant today, but I absolutely loved watching Hardik Pandya smash it all around. He gave that impetus for India to reach 350. And was very happy to see Dhoni come out blazing. It was an absolute fluke for Stoinis to take that catch that had to send Dhoni back. It shows you how dangerous India is in these conditions, when a guy like Rahul comes out at No. 6 with 5 balls remaining and bashes it around for 11 off 3 balls.

Seeing Australia's batting lineup, this is chaseable and India need to be at their very best to defend this. At the moment, I'd say 52-48 for India.

The Zampa "hand in the pocket" video is starting to get really viral on social media. I can't believe cricketers today are still dumb enough to think that such actions won't escape the cams and won't be dissected brutally by the social media genX.

A day where every batsman has contributed for India. Looks like I jinxed them into form with my comment earlier today :p

Pandya batting higher up the order was absolutely crucial today IMO, had it been Dhoni instead of him the Aussies would have bowled a spinner out fully instead of trying to save some overs for Stoinis in the end. I also think the management should focus more on his batting skills instead of his bowling, 7 overs from a number 5 or 6 (which is where he should be playing in the near future) is absolute gold which allows you to play another batsman who could bowl part time at the other position or an all-rounder like Jadeja at 7. Hopefully Pandya continues to bat higher up the order if there's only 15 overs left, would massively help us post those 350 plus totals. Loved to see Dhoni bat aggressively too, he might have not timed every ball but the intent which he lacked previously was crucial and might prove the difference on pitches like this.

If there was ever a day to play Behrendorff (who shouldn't have been in the squad IMO), it was today. Dhawan and Rohit both have had their fair share of troubles versus left armers and he could have bowled the bulk of overs upfront, allowing one of Cummins and Starc to bowl in the middle overs which would have restricted the rate at which the Indians scored freely today. Finch should play at 3 if possible today, Khawaja's best utilized as an opener to get his early boundaries and he's also got a glaring weakness to inswingers that both Bhuvi and Bumrah love to bowl.

Actually Stoinis has done the same thing recently, I'm pretty sure it was against India as well. I wouldn't call it a fluke ;)

We would win by atleast 30+ runs :thumbs

I think on pitches like this, it would make more sense to play Jadeja in place of Jadhav. If you're likely to face only a few balls, might as well bring in a specialist spinner who can save you 20-25 runs on the field and give you the option of bowling 7-8 overs of very tight bowling. Also gives you a left handed variety in the middle order. Jadhav can bowl well too, but Jadeja's prime skill is his bowling and he is tighter with more control.

Did I just see Ireland with three entries in highest world cup run chase one of them bring the number one run chase?

The game's definitely in favour of us, given that they lack players like Pete Handscomb and Turner who were crucial in scoring quickly the last time they chased 350 plus. Just hoping Bhuvi doesn't get smashed around as the pitch looks quite flat to me, might be important for Jadhav to bowl a few partnership breaking, under the sea level overs given how Maxi was bowling decently in the middle overs earlier.[DOUBLEPOST=1560087921][/DOUBLEPOST]

And they're not in the WC, courtesy of ICC. :facepalm

Wasn't having a go at you. Was having a go at the ones who aren't doing it tongue in cheek. Especially the poms.
Look I am all in for a good and healthy banter, you can have your say as well in the forums you might just get a reply or post like me that may appear brash to you or someone who is new across these forums but believe me people have a very good discussions here and can post what they feel irrespective whether they agree with someone or not. Hope you will have a good time in the forums and can interact well with the people around here if you wish to post more and stick around here.:thumbs

They showed it two times on real time replay. There is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY that catch cannot be classified as a 'fluke'. I don't know which other game Stoinis did the same thing, but if that happened, maybe luck struck twice. :D

I miss Ireland in the WCs they participated in three of them and has done so well in each of them from upsetting Pakistan, tie against Zimbabwe and beating Bangladesh in 2007 to Kevin O Brien fastest 100 in 2011 and record chase against West Indies in 2015 WC.

Players like Jermey Bray, Trent Johnson, Kevin and Niall O Brien , Boyd Rankin ,Langford Smith , Ed Joyce , William Porterfield etc. were great to watch including their Chicken Dance celebrations.

Balbirnie and Dockrell are good players too[DOUBLEPOST=1560089227][/DOUBLEPOST]Wtf bails?

Not the first time that this has happened either. What are THESE bails made of?!?!

EDIT - could it be that these stumps are quite heavy? Didn't Sarkar's wicket yesterday have the ball flying for a six after hitting the stumps?

A decent bowling start for us. We need to keep on containing since they have to chase, eventually they will give you the wicket.

Missed the new ball spell in the 2nd innings. Has there been any significant movement with the new ball due to conditions being overcast?
