You have to admit that Punter has been hit with a lot of stick since the Ashes - so maybe some decent results in this 'super' series won't do him any harm....

Tbh I wasn't overly bothered who won the match but I was looking forward to a closer game, so in that respect it was pretty disappointing not to see most of the WorldXI batters fire. Having said that well played Oz; to bowl that batting line up out for 160 odd and drop 4 catches on the way is good going.
Looking forward to the next match, when hopefully the World XI will bat better, and also there may be a few more people there now the Aussies have won again ;) .

There was always going to be more. Wed is still a working day. By the last game the stadiums will be a lot fuller.

If that is true (why alot of the Aussies didnt turn up) then thats pretty pathetic, you support your team no matter how bad they are doing.

Yes i certainly do... its finally paying off being an England fan... you stick with them through the bad times and times such as retaining the Ashes are even sweeter. Good luck with Man City - they aint doing so bad at the moment - with Stuart Pearce in charge... there a lot better than Bradford City atleast. :laugh

Well I can't believe we won.

People may say its because the World IX team have not played with each other long enough, but ffs when your batting who hits the ball? Who decides what shot to play? When your bowling you always bowl your normal line and lenth, thats how you got in the team in the first place ain't it? Australia killed 11 of the best players tonight with both the bat and ball, it weren't because the World IX ain't played together that long, its because each individual player was not on his game. Even though cricket is a team game it is also very much a Individual type sporting game, as your performnce could change a match, and no one stood up tonight for the World IX. No one even looked good enough IMO.

Agreed.. but i dont really take too much from ODI's ive never been a big fan - the tests are where it counts in my opinion - you can have one bad day or one good day and you can win or lose a ODI. Whereas in a test youve gotta be consistent over a number of days... much more of a test in my opinion... In a ODI you can fluke your way through it if you get enough luck(not that Australia did) but my point is that Aus played good on the night and WXI werent up to scratch but yeh I am just looking forward to the test match.

Hey hey!!! Thats uncalled for!! :p

I think the Aussies bowled really well today, McGrath was at his usual best, Lee still had some of that fire left from the Ashes and Watson and Bracken did a good job picking up some vital wickets along the way. I think the World XI will come back on Friday though, a team of that quality cannot perform that badly everytime and if they do win on Friday then Sunday will be a cracker.

Some of the shots Shoaib played at the end were corkers!!! :hpraise

I, like you am a Bantams supporter, and I just think its a shame that they are doing so poorly considering where we were a few years ago, why we ever sacked Paul Jewell is beyond me. Anyway hopefully we can get promoted to the Championship... anyway Im pretty sure this is a cricket forum so yes, better stop talking football

WoW great ICC Selectors :mad ..

Selectors do criticize that Inzamam-ul-Haq whould have been the right captain  .

:help ICC SELECTORS

==========================
sorry if some 1 thought i was bad but i have a right to speak :D

I found it a bit strange that Pollock still continued with the powerplay while Gilchrist was hitting.

And looking back, you can't say if Inzamam would have been performed better.

I hope in the next match Gayle replaces Sehwag. He didn't look good there. Maybe Ntini will get a catch in place of Akhtar. And having Afridi as Supersub is good. He can bat and bowl.
