If that is true (why alot of the Aussies didnt turn up) then thats pretty pathetic, you support your team no matter how bad they are doing.
Nah, the reason was one that it was Wednesday when everyone is working or at school, and two the tickets ranged from $50 for the cheapest seats up the back of the stands to around $80-$120 for regular seats, people aren't going to skip work and pay that when they can just go to one of the two other games at the same place which are at convenient times.

I found it a bit strange that Pollock still continued with the powerplay while Gilchrist was hitting.

And looking back, you can't say if Inzamam would have been performed better.

I hope in the next match Gayle replaces Sehwag. He didn't look good there. Maybe Ntini will get a catch in place of Akhtar. And having Afridi as Supersub is good. He can bat and bowl.

Akther got to be 1 of the main key bowler?

A dissapointing lose for the world 11 today, the top order had a mini collapse, and that set the game up for the aussies, oh well thier still 2 games to go and the worls 11 must win them!!!.

Well no not really. Look at today, he really didn't impress.

If Ahktar is at his best he definitely is the key bowler. But I don't think he is the spearhead of it like McGrath does for Aus. Bond really should have been picked.

I am not convinced that the world XI players are particularly bothered about this series.
I imagine some big $$$$$$ expenses and a couple of weeks in the sun is more important than some meaningless series.
There wil be no burning effigies this time on the sub continent should some of there heroes fail i wouldnt have thought.
International cricket is about national pride not some manufactured meaningless series played in a half full tent.

I think Akhtar is only lacking match practice !!! Otherwise he has been really successfull against Australia especially in Australia !!! Hopefully he'll catch up his rythum and be back on track for the next match so that we see an even performance from both sides !!!

Yeh . Akther is key . flintoff is key of Allrounder in W XI and Dravid and lara , i was a bit dissapointed :(

Shocking performance. Its hard to drop a player when the whole batting and pace bowling line up doesn't go well. I guess the team will have to stay as it is. Only Three of the eleven World XI players played any good. Vettori, Murili and Sangakara. Flintoff batted pretty well and probably could of done more if the other batsmen diddn't play stupid shots, but all he really did is recover all the excess runs he gave away from his poor bowling.

The team is too aggressive there isn't enough balance. The selectors got it wrong. Pollock as captain was very average, another mistake perhaps. The bowling attack is out-dated really Pollock bowled alright and was unlcuky as he bowled well early. Akhtar was average, Kallis was terrible apart from 1 ball.

Pontings captaincy was extremly good. His field placements and bowler rotations seemed perfect. Australias catching is still shocking, 3 easy chances dropped. It isn't often you win a game after dropping so many. They will miss Hayden at slip, Watson made a real mess of one of the easiest slip catches you can get. Watsons fielding and bowling was terrific, Bracken was average and I feel that against another country he would of taken some stick. I think it was a important toss to win, the pitch was slow so it was going to be hard to chase. THe outfield and pitch diddn't impress me, the pitch is average.

I hope this World XI put somne real work in today and go out tomorrow and do better.

I also diddn't mind about the result. I wanted a close and exciting game with good cricket but I diddn't really get that.

Flintoff could've had 3-40 bowling though, it just didn't go his way, not at his best though.

True mate, there might be a decent crowd for the Sunday match of the World XI can win the second match tomorrow....

Pretty sloppy stuff from the Aussies really, four very easy chances going to ground at this level would usually cost you big time. But still, to thrash a team that featured six of the world's best bowlers, and batted down to number ten is a tremendous effort.

Just like Englands former captian said: "Word XI isn't World XI without Sachin!"
(Never Hussian) I don't know how to spell his name...:(

The bowling by the Aussie's was good, McGrath was simply fantastic,
the same can be said for Watson. Being that the Aussie team now
has a full-time Bowling Coach and under-went some restructure,
it's not suprising they all got wickets, what was suprising is that
they gave the World XI a hammering.

Just like batsmen, bowlers can be found-out aswell,
and that's what happened to Flintoff...

I thought Bracken bowled very well last night. Kept it tight and picked up a wicket. The stats may suggest different, but from what i seen he had good rhythm.

aussie1st you're correct, White does field in slip, and he's pretty decent as well.

Hoping for a better performance from the World XI tomorrow, but not too good ;)
