Kallis is perfect if you need to draw the match or trying to build a steady platform. But when he needs to attack it isn't 2nd nature to him. His bowling wasn't any good either but the rest also took punishment so you can't really compare there.

I also think beating a World XI side isnt a very tough thing, because itS more like a group of talented individuals rather than a well knit team.

Would a ROW football team beat Brazil?

Fat chance.

Team wise the World 11 have problems running together and where to put the fielders. Other than that there should should be no reason for batters and bowlers not to go well. Those 2 aspects have nothing to do with the team.

Dont let this fool you Australians! You are not back!

After all...

The World Xi are no england!! :)

The Aussies are still the best ODI side in the world. Their performances against the World XI have only strengthed the argument that it less to do with lack of form and more to do with the way England played over the Ashes series, that led to a below par showing. It will be interesting to see how the test goes and maybe you could give your thoughts as to how the England side would have matched up to a World XI (probably containing 4 or 5 Australians)......

or and check this out....hahahahaha

Jacques Kallis is ***king useless. He got Sangakara run out, then himself. Sangakara called, it was his call, the other batsman isn't supposed to have their idea on it they just have to damn well run. Sangakara did almost have the run completed and he was the batsman, kallis would of had a head start but he just stood there and made sure Sangakara couldn't cross him. Thats damn selfish. And he went on to make another failure of 11 runs. His bowling was even worse. Ntini should come in for him definatly. Give the fellow a game and get that useless tub of **** out. Kallis has had his day. Kallis lost them the game, its sad but its true.

Lara failed again, to the exact same way. He could do with replacing but there isn't anyone left. Hes just lucky Kallis has sucked even more then himself.

Gayle played absolutly fantasticly. Infact I wasn't please with Hair's umpiring decision not giving those balls as wides the previous over. Hair is one of the most terrible umpires I have ever seen really. Anyway Gayle was unlucky to get that nick, bowling out there was good captaincy by Ponting but against the cricketing law. Gayle almost stole Gilchrists show. Another 20 runs of his brilliance and I would of thought so. Sangakara is a fantastic batsman, he played an even better innings then yesterday. Sehwag got them off to a good start, hes not comfortable with the ball at that length obviously.

Dravid and Flintoff had a great partnership, Dravid was unlucky I guess. Shows that when you havn't had much time in a country its hard to guess the bounce. Pietersen was dissapointing but what could he do? Pollock and Vettori hit some good quick runs but by then the game was over.

THe Australian bowling performance was terrible despite what the figures say. Bracken was bad and was lucky to get 2 wickets for reasonably economical figures. Same goes for Clark. Lee was too short at times, Symonds was good, White alright. They noticably missed McGrath at the start.

About this runout, I agree totally with Michael Holding, Kallis was in before the bail had come totally dislodged from both stumps. That was a poor decision. If they were unsure it should of gone to the batsman anyway. I was kind of happy that he was gone none the less, he was running everyone out (I believe he was involved in 3 run outs at least) and just standing out there not getting any runs. How a player can top All Rounder rankings by bowling and batting like that I will never know.

Pollock was not a good choice for captain. The fielding was bad also.

If I offended Kallis fans sorry. But the way he played offended me.

But after all of that it was a very good game, lots of action, great batting from both teams, being critical of the World XI batting they still posted a great ODI score. The bowling let them down this time and a bit more sensible batting.

Now that theres been two games, the players who have pulled their weight are: Sangakara, Gayle, Vettori and Murilitharan. Flintoff, Pietersen (saved by fielding) and Dravid have been alright. Kallis, Lara, Pollock, Akhtar and Afridi havn't at all. Ntini deserves a chance.

Well if the icc selectors want to keep some sort of creditibility after all this they should really consider making some late canges to the world xi test squad definitely. The most obvious would be to get Sangakkara into the side inplace of Boucher.I mean he would've been so gutted to have missed out on the team in the first place and he didnt make a big fuss like Inzy either, just let his actions speak louder than words. He's a player who has 2 different games in tests he's defensive when he wants to be and an excellent keeper to the likes of murali. Boucher is a good keeper but he wldn't have kept to quality spin bowling.

Lara and Kallis are def nt in form and low in confidence.Mind you this is a 6 day test not 5 days. People are going to have to dig deep to mke it last dat long and your going to need good team work.

I also think its going to be hard for Smith to get this team together, coz his captaincy would've a different style from Pollocks and these players have jus gt accustomed to it .

I'm disappointed with the way Lara has played. He looks very rusty and terribley out of form, but he hasn't been given the chance to build an innings because in both matches he came in with the required run-rate at more than six an over and has had Kallis at the other end finding the fielders. He had no option to go for those shots. Had Lara been in form both those shots would have been four.

Another thing is they definetly should drop Akhtar. He has been pathetic. He has the odd good spell but that's about it. I hope he is not selected for the super test either.

I had a very hard think about all this, and I think Australia will win the test match.

The only reason why England beat us in the Ashes is that they were using there type of cricket ball which they can swing and they know how to swing it. Second the pitches were made to accomidate the swing. Now if the Cricket ball used was a non English ball and pitches were made fairly then I bet Australia would of won the Ahses. The the Ashes was down here we would win easily. England just use there home advantage well thats all, thats why flintoff has been getting his arse kicked when bowling down here, hardly and swing or seam movement.

I don't know if the ball makes much difference but the swing sure did. Aus inablitiy to play swing was exposed during the Ashes.

Surely Ponting wasn't playing within the rules but not within the spirit of the game... ;)

Darell hauir that stupid ass clown

i think nobody made a bigger statememnt than darell hair in this match. Firstly, I know him as an Australian umpire wo has always been under scrutiny for some or the other thing. In this match Brett lee kept on bowling short deliveries at near shoulder height which are termed bouncers and in my opinion more than one bouncer is not allowed. What were the umpires doing? ot to take anything away from the Australians. They utilised their early luck of winning the toss when Gilchrist smashed everybody. its very difficult to bowl to Gilchrist, much more difficult than to bowl to Symonds cause he will just smash around every ball. But the Difference was the intelligent batting and bowling spell by Symonds. I think he deserved a MOM coz he bowled pretty well with all those full pitch deliveries at the batsman. And i think Murali should be substituted for Shahid next match coz that poor guy although he works very hard is not fully fit and is a liability in the field. I think Ntinin should play and supersub should be shahid. Ntini should finish in two spells and shahid and gayle should bowl then. Thats my opinion but i know for sure when the players were saying Australia are still the best and it is very difficult to beat them then we don't have to hear it from anybody else to rectify it. I think the whole England Squad should be called with Inzamam and Sachin in it LOL. For me Sachin would have made a huge impact if he was fully fit. In the end gr8 performance by AUSTRALIA, They ARE STILL THE BEST IN OD CRICKET
