I think he has retired from ODI cricket to focus on test matches.
One wonders why he was selected for this series. As Bill Lawry pointed out during today's match,"Brian has shown some energy in the field, he wants to make some runs to prove he is not here for the beer" Ha Ha make a guess lolz- do they have Crown Lager in West Indies. :onpc :cheers

the one problem with bracken is that he is such a step down from mcgrath and lee that it makes batsman want to attack him more than it would say gillespie (when he was in form). having said that im a fan of bracken because i think australia need a left arm quick

Also, he relies on swing more than any other bloke in our squad, so obviously bowling inside the Dome were not his ideal conditions. Thought he did okay all up, he won't ever have to face a batting line up as good as that again, and all the batsmen were playing very aggressive strokes. Not sure what he was thinking with the wides though

as long as bill doesnt say "thrown the cat into the birds" one more time. that must have been a line he worked on while he was away in england.

the unfortunate thing for australia is that he is yet to fire so far but i can see a huge score coming in the test match. thats the problem with lara. you could never keep him from fighting back. he is like tendulkar, it always builds up and then they come back with a huge score, champion batsmen always do

of Cause I watch state cricket, but he is still a muppett, the selectors only picked Bracken and Clark because there from NSW.

I am so eagerly waiting for the test match. Lara and Dravid are the danger men for Australia. I would like to hear Bill Lawry there. Actually he is not far away from his impersonations in "the 12th man" :cheers

Well, apart from Tait, who was next on the list?

Yeah, Lara has done it a lot in his career. He has a bad run (I mean a very bad run) and all of a sudden he gets a huge score out of the blue and he is on his way again.

Cant wait for the test, the World XI will win that one! now there is where Kallis belongs, not in the ODI outfit! if Gibbs was fit we could have seen another match, like Pollock said that a test match is more individual, reason that the Wolrd XI did not play so well in the ODI's because they did not gel in! if I had to chose my XI for the ODI, it would have been : 1.Gayle, 2.Afridi, 3.Vauhgn (because of his captaincy) 4.Gibbs 5.Youhana, 6.Pietersen, 7.Sangakarra, 8.Flintoff,9.Vetorri, 10.Murali, 11.Ntini and supersub-Andre Nel (for bowling wise)-I feel that this was the performers in the last twelve months!
My test squad- 1.Smith(captain), 2.Struass 3.Lara 4.Kallis 5.Dravid 6.Flintoff 7.Boucher 8.Pollock 9.Vettori 10.Hoggard 11.Murali and the supersub-Afridi

You don't get super-sub in tests. Is that different for this Super Test?

Well it's all good in hindsight isn't it. Also you chose Vaughan because of his captaincy, what about Stephen Fleming? Twice the captain and batsman Vaughan is. There isn't any South African bias showing through is there?

lol something i noticed, a bad idea

Symonds can enjoy it now. There is no matches coming up for him. Unless the Aussie County Season has already started and he plays in it.

And I hope he doesn't drink again several hours before a match.

not just kallis and lara Pollack has been pathetic and has been for a long time now been years since I seen him play well
You obviously don't watch Pollock play much,do you?

Lara was pathetic...didnt score at all.
he was the vice-captain was'nt he ?
I feel pollock did a very good job as a captain...don't see how smith is going to perform better...

to tell you..the super series has been a flop....
the world xi players dont go out ands play like they do for their countries do they..The ICC should have understood this.

It would take a competitive team which plays together regularly to beat the aussies.
not a team which is a mix of the world's best players.
