i still excepted them to put up a fight, with lara, pollock, ntini, flintoff, pieterson, shoaib, gayle, sehwag, dravid, vetorri, afridi, mutiah, and sangakarra

Langerrox what do you expect them to do? They always have a beer after victory.

What a dissapointment.

I said earlier in the thread that Bracken looked poor and he is. Hes a weak link in the bowling.

Some of the world XI players played their best. Some certainly diddn't. Oh well their below 10 scores and bad bowling figures will hurt their records.

Good players don't make good teams, the England Football team prove that.

Cricket is way different to soccer.

I think all you guys blaming the World IX's performance because they have not been a team that long are totally wrong. A individuals bowling or Batting performance has nothing to do with the team, if they bowl line and lenth like they did to get in the team in the first place then they would of went better, if batters played the proper shots and stuff then they would of batted better. There is no way you can blame it on the fact the team has not been together long enough.

There will always be excuses from those who support the losing side (see Aussie fans after Ashes), and this series is no exception. It is increasingly so for the Aussies who routinely have the rest of the world supporting their opponents. Australia couldn't win in this series. If they won it would be that the Best of the Rest XI didn't play well/didn't have enough time to prepare/didn't try. If the Aussies lost, it would have been: Aussies too old/can't perform when they come up against a good bowling attack etc. etc.

That isn't to say the six day match (can't call it a Test) won't be different. The Aussies had nothing to prove in the one day game, but some could make a case that they do in the longer version of the game. On that account, I will wait until the summer to make that judgement, but it will certainly be tough playing in Sydney against Murali and Vettori.

Oh and on the team note, I would like to hear how the rest of the team contributed to Garry Sobers 250 odd against the Aussies whilst representing a World XI... Just curious...

Well regardless of our win I still think we are to old, look what watson added to the team, and Lee is still young. We should of let White have a bat, and clarke was always put in difficult positions when in bat, poor man must be confused. Tait would of played if not injured and would added a bit more to the bowling. Ponting ain't exactly old either and he went ok. Hopes is looking ok for a all rounder position but should of been given a go in starting 11.

I think we need to bring through a few more younger players, especially bowlers as who is going to fill that hole when McGrath is gone? Probably a old hopeless NSW's bowler.

The test match would be interesting and if Australia attack like we did 2-3 years ago then I think we'll win it.

I am so eagerly waiting for the test match. Lara and Dravid are the danger men for Australia. I would like to hear Bill Lawry there. Actually he is not far away from his impersonations in "the 12th man" :cheers

I am so sick of his one liners

"deer oh deer"

"just the sungle there" (its single bill and you don't have to tell us every time)

"Got him yes Gone beautiful bowling!!"

"Aust off to a solid start"

"hes the Key for the team"

"good Line and length"

and that shocking laugh of his

when a batman hits the ball in the air

"HES GONE FOR IT!!!!"

yes Bill these one liners are said 20 times a game by you!! each one
