Good players don't make good teams, the England Football team prove that.
What does that say about the Australian cricket team then? They have good players and a good team

Are they in the grey area?

I dont get why people are using the excuse of "The World XI aren't really a team so thats why they didnt peform well"

Umm, wake up call! Cricket really isnt a team sport.

You have a 2 batsman out there at a time, the only team thing they do is call yes or know for a run. Not rocket science.

Bowling is indivduel, and i'd hardly call fielding a 'team' aspect.

How could I mis BIl with its all happening here

I thought it was funny the 1st match he said "tremendous atmosphere here" when the crowd was one of the worst ever

What?

of course cricket is a team sport, there are 11 players in a TEAM. Javelin is an individual sport.
Bowling works as partners, look at how McGrath and Lee bowl together, then how Lee bowls without McGrath at the other end. Big difference.

One of the most important aspects of ODI cricket is running between the wickets, World XI didn't do that because they aren't a team just a bunch of individuals.

Although i think Australia would've won the series anyway.

Bar the pathetic running between the wickets some of the wickets were soft. Your batting technique has nothing to do with the team. You don't just lose it over night.

The bowlers also should have gone well. The World side has some class bowlers. I agree bowlers work well in tandem though, but chuck McGrath into the world side and there would be no problem.

Yes but a team is made up of individuals, not just one or two. One of the reasons to Australia and more recently Englands success. Australia played well i'm not trying to discredit them just saying why the World XI didn't play well.

I agree, although with Aus ist probably is one or two individuals. Every time they are left out you see a gaping hole in the bowling attack.

I was delighted for Watson this series as he showed his stuff for Hampshire.

Thanks for the find. World XI won with 4-1. Although the matches were very close.
