The first day the pacemen should get some movement especially with rain forecasted. 2nd day less of it. 3rd day on wards you start getting major spin. There is always spin in the SCG.
Vettori and Murali are top class spinners and Aus always have problems against them.

That legal?

Well on VBookie i'm with Australia, end up watching the highlights tomorrow. Unless i'm sick in the night :D

Australia has won the toss and chose to bat.

Pollock and Hodge won't play the match.

I think the toss alone is decisive who will win the match. In this case Australia.

Gotta disagree with you there mate, I think we have played them as well as could be possible, particularly in Australia. We have handled all of the World XI bowlers quite well in Australia.

Harmison 9 wickets @ 50.6 S/R 88.33
Kallis 6 wickets @ 61.0 S/R 116.0
Murali 3 wickets @ 116.0 S/R 184.0
Vettori 29 wickets @ 37.6 S/R 75.9

overall aint bad either

Harmison 26 wickets @ 38.6 S/R 67.8
Flintoff 24 wickets @ 27.3 S/R 48.5
Kallis 22 wickets @ 39.7 S/R 71.6
Murali 50 wickets @ 30.5 S/R 60.4
Vettori 51 wickets @ 33.5 S/R 67.5

Vettori's average was blown out early on. Last 2 times he came to Aus he has bowled extremely well. Murali well he hasn't been in Aus for ages so you can't read much into his stats.

97/98 N.Z in Aus 6 wickets @ 51.7, SR 112.0
99/00 Aus in N.Z 14 wickets @ 15.6, SR 35.6
01/02 N.Z in Aus 13 wickets @ 33.9, SR 60.6
04/05 N.Z in Aus 10 wickets @ 34.1, SR 74.0
04/05 Aus in N.Z 8 wickets @ 49.6, SR 92.9

I don't mean to labour the point, be he's had one excellent series, two average performances, and two horrid performances. I just think for a bloke that is widely classed as a world class spinner and one of the most underrated cricketers going around, he hasn't really done all that much, only impressing against Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

Harmisons first over was great, good ball to dismiss Langer. Looked alot better from the clips Sky showed. world XI won't win this, I mean Kallis as 3rd seamer? would England play Colly as 3rd seamer?

god murali blocked katich!so not out 175/4 now

They just showed it on SSN, looked like bad luck to me, Bowlers are allowed to stand ground and it's up to the batsman to go around. Murali didn't do it on purpose either.

Vettori has had no support from the other Kiwi bowlers. He has had to be defensive yet still has managed to get wickets. He usually gets whacked but comes back very well. Without him NZ would have lost easily.

Also if you are reading into stats then Warne must also be average if he only got
14 wickets at an average of 30 and strike rate of 60 in India.

Whats his economy rates been may I ask the smartie called Sando. Economy is a very very important statistic. Hes taken a good bunch of wickets every time and also has put pressure on batsmen and given little away.

The first one was when he started in the NZ team, he was 18 years old and I for one think that wasn't a bad performance at all. The latest series doesn't give a true indication AT ALL. He got a 5 wicket bag in one of the innings. His economy was fantastic. He bowled a huge amount of overs in those games. Stastics only tell part of the story.

His economy rate against Australia is 2.97. Amazing really considering the heavy workload, the fantastic amount of wickets hes taken and the Australian batsmen in general. Every series in my opinion has been excellant.

Anyway a great spinning performance again and fantastic innings from Hayden and Gilchrist. This is gonna be a good test. What a fantastic first day.
