i can't understand why team ranked 4 has four players(of which 3 play)
and team ranked no.2 and only 8 points behind aus have only 2 players
in this team

ratings are
aus 127
eng 119
ind 112
saf 100
nzl 100

even more shocking was odi selection
aus 136
srl 123 -------- only 2 players
nzl 116 ------- only 1 player
pak 116 ------ only 1 player who did not play intl cricket since long time

personally, i respect freddie for what he did

Zimbabwe because no zimbabwe player is in the team.
Maybe they could have done with having David Shepherd and Srinivas Venkatraghvan as the two on-field umpires to give them a good farewell gift.
This is something that the ICC must undertake.

I feel Simon Taufel got the nod seeing as he is the Umpire of the Year for two years consecutivley now.

agree with u on shepherd and venkatraghvan thing man. I think ICC would have noticed a lot of thing other than that.

Come now, do I really have to point out how many NZ players rank in the LG rankings. You can't pick whole teams, only players. But for the omission of Sangakkara, the Test batting lineup is about as strong as you could expect it to be. On the other hand, what's so wrong about the bowlers? The ones that have been selected are all accomplished and in considerable form. The only player that really got the short stick was Chaminda Vaas and he hasn't proved particularly effective in Australia, anyway.

Aus could declare now and still win the game. I'm glad that Andrew Flintoff continues to stick it to his Aussie detractors (well mainly Jarryd actually). The rest of the team has been a bit of a waste of space though.

Andrew flintoff hasnt stuck anything to us you fool. He hasnt done that great.
His bowling was quite good though

Well aside from the fact you've just contradicted yourself in this post it's not a great idea to call anyone a fool for expressing an opinion let alone an admin.

Just been watching Sky News and i am shocked at the aussie fans chucking plastic bottles at freddie hopefully they were chucked out of the ground and banned from watching cricket for life cuz that's what they deserve

lol whatever.

I think the World IX needs to be together for at least a month to make anything of a series like this. Not enough time for group 'bonding'.Thats the main point!

Well, I think we should not lose hopes. World IX can come back in this match in their next inning. I have feeling Dravid and Lara will play very good innings. And I hope inzi bhai will do this something time.

You do both realise that there is more than 9 players in the team right?
From what I've seen, I'm not so sure there's more than 9 players. The others may be cardboard cut-outs.

somebody should throw plastic bottles at you see how you like it or better yet glass bottles or knives
lol are you threatening me?

Sounds like someone needs to get to beddybyes, crankypants.

Yeah maybe he thought that, but it's not like he tried to find out. Suffice to say, attempting six after six is not the best way to hang around.

I think he was trying to bash Mcagill out of the attack to get a seamer on.

Oram is on the list. Hes just come back from injury and isn't at his best yet so those rankings don't mean much.

For the ODI's the team was all wrong. The test team is better but not the best.

ODI's

Kallis's batting average in 2005 has been 27.25
Lara's batting average in 2005 has been 29.20
Flintoff's is 30.30 (very acceptable for an allrounder)
Sehwag: 30.40
Sangakara 34.61 (very acceptable for a wicket keeper and he proved his worth anyhow)
Tendulker 24.16
Afridi 28.55

Dravid has a decent average above 35 although he did poorly. Gayles is alright 33.1 and he did good in that one innings. Vettori who comes in at 10 has a higher average this year then all the above batsmen minus Sangakara and is pretty much level with Flintoff. Pietersen, 3rd on the list. Good selection although he diddn't perform.

They diddn't select in-form batsmen did they?

Now even worse the bowling attack they selected.

Ntini 21.48, now why the hell diddn't he play from the start over either of these two:

Akhtar 46.16
Pollock 36.00

The spinners were good so we won't bother going into them.
