No, I feel Ishant at sometime or the other needs to play both forms of the game. That would make him a complete player. From ODI's, he has to learn the art of containment at his usual pace.

With the amount of ODI cricket that India play, it will be a matter of time before he gets injured. That is why I don`t think India can afford another potential quick bowling star to go the Munaf way.

We need specialist Test quicks and ODI quicks, with Zaheer playing both. Irfan can play both as well, I guess.

Sharma has been a real find of the series.
I feel he must be preserved for tests and not be wasted in ODIs. We need him to keep up his pace because reverse swing at his pace could be devastating.

This is where Kirsten comes in and makes sure Sharma can maintain test and odi mode separately. This period to about 24,25 is very important for Sharma cause he is still learning.

Thats hopefully not the last time we see gilly bat in white clothes. Maybe australia chasing 250 and hobble at 100/6 and gilly almost saves the match...

In fact Zaheer must stick to Test cricket only.
Irfan can play both though, so can Sreesanth. Iam not so sure about RP though.

As I type, a great great cricketer walks back to the pavillion for the last time as a batsman !
GILLY, take a bow ! Now, can we polish the tail off ?

What do people think of Sharma`s spell here ? I feel he is bowling one of the best spells I`ve seen from an Indian fast bowler for a some time.
Rates right up there along with Zaheer and RP Singh`s spells at Nottingham last year.

Oh man!

Will he get to bat in the 2nd innings? Will it last that much? Lets hope it does (so that we can watch him again).

Saw the Indians applauding again, and thats really good signs. It was Gilly who came up and shook hands with Kumble for his 600th wicket. The emotions at that moment were something different. I never ever thought I would feel this way for a non-Indian player

Thank you very much for the entertainment, Adam Gilchrist. I have always enjoyed watching him bat, more watching him keep. Even if it was against India.

the 14 he scored was classic. Genuine Gilchrist, going for runs and getting out fighting. Thanks, dude.

It would have been great to see one last test match six. Well done Gilly, you are a legend.

There's still the second inning. I think Ponting should do something nice for him, and send him opening with his good friend Hayden.

Chances of that happening? :)

Honestly, I really don't want to see Gilly batting again in the whites because if he is, we are probably in serious trouble.

doubt it.
I think we'll collapse in the second inning, getting like 200 odd lead. But then there is the Kumble factor on a fifth day Adelaide pitch - pretty scary for you guys.

Is it me or is Slater way too obsessed with lara bingle... Sharma lookin good with the ball. Might get hogg with the bounce.
