India in England Jun-Sept 2014

How is the weather forecast for Manchester :P

Doesn't matter how fast you bowl: you aren't threatening the batsman if you bowl like that

Its his first over. Give the guy some time. He has the pace and needs to get the radar going. For us Indians, its a change to see a bowler having the ability to bowl in the mid 140s. Dhoni must tell him not to worry about runs but go all out for pace. Need to bowl him in short bursts hoping for wickets. I still believe though that Yadav is a better test bowler than Aaron and he has pace as well. If only we took more chances in tests with our selection.
Ashwin needs to come in from the other end against Ballance. He has`nt been tested by real spin in this series. In any case, its not a 150 pitch. If we can get them out below 275, we will still be in the game.

Lets win a session first. We haven't won a single session since the Lord's test. Only after that can we think of such targets.

Honestly the first innings has put only one result possible RIGHT NOW ... having said that, if India cna just thrill with the ball, I would be delighted. Never mind a lead, that is inevitable almost here, but just a great bowling performance from Varun Aaron and Co. Super.

Ballance reminds me of Chaderpaul, plays within himself, and is very non fussy in his head. Now only get the weird stance going and he is all set.

Still Robson is unconvincing. I wouldn't have picked him in the first place, due to him being an Aussie.

I was disappointed that Carberry wasn't given another chance. He seemed to be dropped due to others failure.

If the ECB are determined to go for young players, I;d give Hales a chance. Attacking player and could be the perfect partner for Cook.[DOUBLEPOST=1407432106][/DOUBLEPOST]
Oh yes oh yes! Aaron gets a big one!

I wouldn't say that! Cooks rubbish these days! If it wasn't for his runs in the last match, he'd be in serious trouble.

Where have all the gloating Indian fans gone from the first two tests? ;)

To be fair to the Indian fans around here, there was hardly any gloating going on here after the Lords win. We were more critical of our side than ever before.

I`m loving Aaron getting wickets here. He at least adds some X-factor to our attack. His accuracy is not the best and he is not a big swinger of the ball but pace adds a lot to the attack.

I must have missed those posts! Certainly there were lots of posts gloating after the 1st win.

However, I was extremely criticial and thought we were going to get spanked 2-0 in the series, so I'm a hypocrite!

If England get bowled out for under 250 here, this game could still have a lot of life left in it. We have to manage to stay in the game somehow and we have managed to stay afloat with that final session. A good first session for us tomorrow will set up a fine game.[DOUBLEPOST=1407434881][/DOUBLEPOST]

Ask Zim about how optimistic the Indian fans have been over here.

A small consolation for India with Ballance's wicket, to end a nightmare of a first day. England still have a lot of batting and are capable of posting 350-400 on this pitch. Aaron with his two wickets should hopefully earn enough bowling for tomorrow. Pankaj Singh to me looks another one of those "domestic bullies, international pussycat" type. Bhuvi and Aaron have to slog it out between themselves mostly for the wickets.

I reckon that England gaining a lead of anything in the range of 100-120 would be the best case scenario that India would be hoping for. If that happens, I see something of a fighting chance for India. A lead over 150 will mean only 1 result possible.[DOUBLEPOST=1407435687][/DOUBLEPOST]

You might have not visited this thread during those times (1st and 2nd test). There was a lot of criticism going on even after the Lord's win, by Indian fans themselves.

Still here ... since u r missing the gloating Indian spirit so much ... lets get it going again ... The test team don't seem to be giving us any reason to gloat right now, but since its good performances in Cricket we are looking to gloat about ... How many World Cups have England won? :D
