India Team Discussion

How about the BCCI first sort out the prize money the players are owed for being the finalists in the 2020 World Cup before resorting to image management?

Pretty obvious where all of this training and policy comes from.

Doing it finally, after being called out publicly by foreign media

Although I do not understand why players need to raise invoice for it. Weird payroll process, whatever it is.

Let me address the elephant in the room and say that one of the biggest disappointments in recent years of Indian Cricket has been Sourav Ganguly as the BCCI president. Given how much was expected of him to deliver, the lack of changes has been staggering.

Rahane hasn't quite converted his scores into big innings for quite a long time but that doesn't mean his impact hasn't been there on the team. He also scored centuries in Antigua, Ranchi & Melbourne all of which were match winning hundreds. Also that 67-run knock in the 2nd Test at Chepauk against England was very important and it impacted the result of that match to a good extent. And not to forget that he is the first Indian Captain to beat a full strength Australian team in Australia!!!! The way he used Ashwin on that tour was appreciable. The best thing about it was the way he Captained a young Indian side with inexperienced pacers & batsmen at their lowest point.

Also the 2nd highest run-scorer is Rohit Sharma. I think nobody would've expected this from him a couple of years ago. Atleast I wouldn't have expected it. I don't think letting him open has got anything to do with him. It's just him who actually have taken this opportunity with both hands, I mean he just had to take this opportunity which otherwise looked like a gone case for him.

And last but not the least that century drought from Virat Kohli isn't a worrying factor at all. Those will definitely come when they have to. But it's just even after scoring runs he hasn't been impactful for India for quite a while now. It's a thing that concerns India the most especially on Overseas tours. If India has to win matches in future Kohli's runs are important and he needs to find a way to help this out.

The selectors never did this guy justice. One of the many wasted talents in cricket. I recall he couldve made the team on batting alone but Sachin wanted to stay on block the youngsters like Dinesh and I am talking about both tests and ODi the guy was that good. Seems he benefited financialy from the IPL, least thats one good with the IPL.

So Tendulkar who batted at four in tests and opened in ODIs with splendour apparently blocked the progression of 'young' DK who... either played as an opener or a middle order bat in tests and averaged 25 as an opener in ODIs besides playing in the middle order with more success.

And the best part? A specialist batsman blocks the progression of a wicket-keeper by not retiring!

You can't make this up, every post of yours is just incorrect, dishonest and offers nothing of value. How long can one be in denial as to how much embarrassing each of their post is?

Bro, this was a very weak attempt. I have come to expect better anti-SRT vitriol from you.

Well let us not argue with a person with God-like stature of his. He is the creator of this forum and deserves ultimate respect. :lol

Just to remind everyone Kohli is India's Test Captain for a period of more than what Dhoni was in his entire career. And inspite of all the flaws in his Captaincy we are still winning matches. India is fortunate to have the kind of players they have at their disposal at present otherwise we would've been like what a Pakistan or a South Africa is today.

So, why not have someone with lesser flaws- someone who can be more ruthless in his approach? Someone who isn't shy of trying out new combos.

The problem with the likes of Kohli/MSD- they have fixed norms regd players about what works/ what doesn't- Prepared to bet if Kohli were to lead India in Aus last year, we would have lost the series (on account of his ridiculous playing XI selections)

Don't think I am backing him as the Captain in my above post. He is just ridiculous when it comes to Captaincy and has proven it time and again. I would probably have Rahane as India's Test Captain.
