Twitter seems to be abuzz with the fact that this captaincy change was a pre-condition in Dravid accepting the role of the Head Coach. If so, its good.
It was inevitable and I must say, despite whatever Kohli achieved, the team needed change. Hopefully Rohit can guide them well. Surprisingly and for good reason, they haven't announced the ODI vice-captain. Perhaps, we'll see a surprise there.

What a complete shit show this has been in the past weeks or so from Indian cricket. All the big names, all the money in the world, one of the best T20 leagues, one of the best talent of players coming up but what an absolute shit show.
I always feared that this is what would happen if you remove Virat Kohli from captaincy. This is why he can never be as great as Sachin, MSD or Ganguly were. In an ideal world he should have resigned from the captaincy to allow other captain to build towards WC's after 2019. Yes in 2019 we won almost every game and only lost in semi finals and that does not warrant a removal of captaincy but fans had seen enough and knew all great batsman do not become great captain and SACHIN RAMESH TENDULKAR is and will always remain the best example. Leadership is not something you learn, that is something you are born with and nurturing makes you become a better leader.
Ravi Shastri on the other end is hogging all the limelight on how badly he was treated and what all bullshit. Now I am all in for a break and mental health space but Kohli just had a break and is coming back from a break. Also Rohit Sharma was hitting it so nicely and now he is injured? This isnt the 1990's anymore that you can fool the public.
To be honest us Indian fans need a complete reset and get rid of both Sharma and Kohli and end this debacle. IF there is a rift no sports fan deserve this. Go play and earn money in the IPL because had it not been the IPL, the players would have not even thought about getting so many breaks as their livelihood would depend on playing INTERNATIONAL cricket.
