Big wicket there for OZ - back on top again

This is a good resilient batting from India but I think we need a good partnership. I feel we need to score around 320 and we are in the game with our bowling.

Oh GOD ! what have u done Jinks

New ball due in 3 overs - this could sink very fast

Poor running from Kohli and Rahane. More of Rahane's fault. So humble of him to accept his own mistake though. A real team man he is!!! :cheers

He better get over this damage soon though - he needs to guide this innings now

That might be the softest run-out I've ever seen.

Also, I thought Cam Green was about 6'1" but they're talking about him being about 6'8". Have they got themselves in a twist on the comms, or is he actually that big of a unit?

Actually, it was completely Rahane's call - he played the shot and he was going to the danger end, and then was well down the wicket before saying NO. It happens though - but couldnt have been a worse time for this when we were starting to dominate the session

I just saw this coming with Vihari's trigger movement. He was always a contender for lbw with the in-swing. I would say his weakness is rather exposed badly. He has to make some adjustments with this.

We have to bat out the first session tomorrow somehow and reach 300. If we make 300, we still have a chance, but anything less than that will be trouble, I feel.

Australia's day, by just a few hairs. One less wicket could've made this a balanced day. Well, Ashwin and Saha are both accomplished test batsmen and one has to hope they have it in them to carry India to a score of 350+. Umesh can tonk it a few. I am not hoping Bumrah repeats his heroics from the warm up game as this is an international side with pros in the bowling attack

It was fun reading through the tear ups that happened on social media post Shaw's dismissal. Absolutely insane that the captain/management gave him the chance ahead of Gill (or even Rahul). Hope this doesn't bite us too hard in this test.

Looks like we won't be reaching 300. That would mean our bowlers will have to be bowl their skin out to avoid Smith Australia gaining a sizable lead.

In all honesty, I think India did pretty well to reach 220 odd runs. I wasn't expecting them to.

We have two bowlers who have a tendency to leak runs so we it's imperative that wickets are taken at regular intervals.

This pink Test is a boon as far as timings go since the start and end of play is similar to one if played in India.

Intriguing day 2 on the cards and I sincerely hope we have Australia around 5 down by end of day.

Why do Kohli/Shastri keep repeating such obvious selection errors in tours outside Asia? There’s no way a team this talented shouldn’t have won in South Africa, New Zealand and England. And i’m sorry, but that win in Australia will always have an asterisk next to it. Yes, you can only face the team in front of you, but i'd be surprised if India under Kohli/Shastri beat a full strength Australian team away from home. Sadly we won’t know until the next tour, since Kohli's leaving after this match.

It's all on Smith & Labuschagne. We might well get just 2-3 wickets if those guys bat out the day. And if the improbable happens we might nearly bowl them out.
