India tour of Australia Nov'20-Jan'21

Ominous Signs For India - Steve Smith & his Imitation Clone (Marnus L) are looking set for a big one.

That Boundary was a sign that Smith is taking the attack to the Indian bowlers.

I believe if India were batting first they too would've taken Australia on the attack because of the nature of the SCG pitch. But for now we need to get these guys under 400 or the scoreboard pressure will play in the head of the Indian batsmen.

Labuschagne approaching 50 .. probably going to get out before it, as is tradition[DOUBLEPOST=1610002706][/DOUBLEPOST]

NOPE

Reverse Jinxing ain't gonna work I guess this time around.:D

Time to appreciate the opposition the batters , they have played well so far on good batting pitch.

The only good news for India is that the score is 160+ at the close of Day 1. This means that Australia will have to bat the entire day tomorrow to reach a 400+ score, unless they manage to score quickly at 3.5+ rpo.

So ideally India should be prepared to field the whole day tomorrow and hope to start batting on Day 3 or the last 5-6 overs of Day 2. Anything earlier than that would be a bonus as it would mean Australia got bowled out and/or scored around 350-ish.

I think too many reverse jinxes happened - might have accidentally Jinxed the reverse jinx itself

I'm not trying to. I just mentioned my gut feel. I don't believe in all this but have a lot of soft corner for those that do and religiously follow it. Shows passion.

I somehow get a feeling that Australia is going to collapse tomorrow and get bowled out under 400. Maybe it was a good pitch to bat on and the wet ball made things difficult for the bowlers to get the ball in the right place and Australia's batting made things even more worse for the Indians. I get a feeling if there is a full day's play possible tomorrow, India will bat in the later part of the day(hope we don't lose Rohit in that phase :p). And I am getting another feeling as well, if Rohit gets through the initial phase and if he is fed on his strong zone he would actually score a big hundred(definitely seems a lot more optimistic than what actually could happen but I back my instinct). I just hope Pujara and Rahane fires as well. Maybe we can somehow manage a draw in this game.

Our 'experts' are at it. "Play your best keeper." :facepalm

Not since Sourav Ganguly has so much rubbish been written about a cricketer as Rishabh Pant.

Well, he was the highlight of the day from our side, so he is going to be the talking point. Just like average keeping comes as a package with Pant, the brickbats come as a package with all the limelight of being an international Indian cricketer. The Indian management is probably quite aware of the same, so I hope they can shield Pant's peace of mind. Here is praying that he can do something special in this Test and make up for those two pretty significant lapses today.
