India tour of Australia Nov'20-Jan'21

The Australians are right back in it now.

One more wicket before the end of days play & its Advantage to home side.

The runs just dried up facing quality bowling spell. I think 96/2 is a decent finish, but it should've been a little better. I think match is pretty much evenly balanced now. Pujara, Rahane & Pant need to bring out their best to regain control in this series.

I somehow get a feeling that Australia is going to collapse tomorrow and get bowled out under 400. Maybe it was a good pitch to bat on and the wet ball made things difficult for the bowlers to get the ball in the right place and Australia's batting made things even more worse for the Indians. I get a feeling if there is a full day's play possible tomorrow, India will bat in the later part of the day(hope we don't lose Rohit in that phase :p).
The day was pretty much like what I predicted apart from the thing in bracket. He did all the hardwork to just throw it away in the end. :facepalm

Came here to say the same .. almost a perfect prediction. But you put too much hope on Sharma JI. I think Mayank will feel hard done - this is a wicket on which he could have certainly played himself into some form.

Match pretty evenly poised, with a slight advantage to India. This partnership will probably define the match (and possibly the series)

Supporting Rohit can be so tough in life.

I think this is a commendable come back. Huge innings for Vihari coming up. I have a feeling Jadeja will make an impact with the bat as well and I hope Ashwin makes a half century as well because this track will suit him. If Pujara can be Pujara, I expect us to get to some sort of lead and some very tired Aussie bowlers. The 'draw' could be secured here by tiring Australia out i.e Pujara. Winning this test match will be hard but it's not out of the question. I can't see how we will get Steve Smith out again, but we will see.

India are not ahead. You always add two wickets to the current score in any cricket. We have to bat last and this is a world class attack. In my existence of watching cricket, only second to the McGrath, Gillespie, Lee and Warne attack.

That is true. I haven't seen McGrath, Gillespie, Lee and Warne bowl together apart from EA Cricket 07 where I smashed them for fun. :p

Jokes apart but I haven't seen them bowl in a Live match so I can't speak about them but I know they were the best. I can certainly say current bowling lot is the best I have ever seen. So for obvious starters I think this is the best definition to define Australia's bowling at present.

As a Rohit supporter I have reached that stage where even if he scores 10 runs in boundaries I would enjoy his classy strokes which are full of pure elegance. :lol :lol
Rohit's batting always reminds me of Sachin purely due to his elegant stroke making.

I'd say advantage Australia at the moment given they've got the runs on the board and two of the set batsmen are out. Would've been solid if either Gill or Rohit were there at stumps. One of Pujara, Rahane or Vihari needs to play a long and patient innings with adequate support from the rest of the batting lineup if India are gonna end up anywhere near Australia's score. Getting around 400 will suffice if the weather is willing to wreak some havoc over the next few days to play for a draw. Anything around 450 will surely be enough for a win. It's going to be challenging though, as someone said above this Aussie attack to second to the Lee-McGrath-Gillespie-Warne attack and they are relentless.

I see this as a good opportunity for Vihari to fulfill his potential given his stellar FC numbers and score something of substance here. Tommorow will be extremely crucial in the context of the series.

You will see a lot of messages here and while I'm not on Twitter or other platforms where cricket is discussed, there is this big myth about "Rohit and the swinging ball" and I have become fed up of repeating that Rohit and KL perhaps have the best technique in India. Rohit looked alright today and as expected, his dismissal was soft and had nothing to do with the bowler. I can almost guarantee that a Kohli desperate to prove himself would never have got out himself after playing 50 odd balls. Notice, I am not using terms like "If Kohli got to 20 he would make a ton" bla bla bla. A good ball in SENA conditions could always have your name on it. It's about the grind and the mental fortitude and I am sure that Rohit has it but he is yet to prove me on patience. He has these moments of madness and I personally feel he can overcome it but just is too lazy.

Believe me, I like him more than Kohli but I believe more in Kohli. I think Rohit has already made my top 5 most irritating moments in sport of 2021 with his dismissal today.

Well that was unexpected. I did not think Australia would be bowled out so quickly. Smith's wicket was a bonus and as others have said, getting him out for the second time on this pitch will be a big ask. We finally got a good partnership. Yes Sharma got out quickly and did not play the innings we were expecting him to but we got a 70 runs opening partnership. I would take that. Shubman Gill's inning looked fantastic and he has to learn to bat a longer inning. He has a bright future and will learn. Crucial first session for us. If Rahane and Puji can grind and get a solid start and we do not loose any wicket in the first session, that would be a big thing.

I have a feeling Vihari and Jadeja will play a big role. Jadeja's bowling has already been fantastic.
