India tour of Australia Nov'20-Jan'21

Only a collapse from Australia could save India now. The match looks pretty much in Australia's favour now.

Jadeja, Pant and even Bumrah looks like has caught a niggle. Reports are Shastri spoke to Harvinder Singh the selector. Even if someone is flown in asap, I do not think they can take part in the next test match with all the covid restrictions. We might be looking for the below team next match

  • Agarwal
  • Gill
  • Pujara
  • Rahane
  • Sharma
  • Vihari
  • Saha
  • Ashwin
  • Saini
  • Siraj
  • Thakur

This is Bumrah really does not feel 100%

Play Pant in the playing XI and then injure

This is almost the India A side.

No main stream bowlers & Kohli.

This is what happens when you make poor selection decisions with no future planning. This entire discussion about "the game not moving forward" and the unwarranted Pujara criticism is centred around poor selection decisions. It's a team sport. Pujara & Kohli were mainstays when Vihari was picked (crazy to think Rahane's place was under scrutiny until the MCG test). Now, when you know Pujara is 3 and at a starting point Rahane is 5 then why wasn't a more attacking batsman chosen for no.6 because of the requirement of the team. The quality of our bowling has masked the over-dependance of our batting on a few individuals not just in tests but also the white ball format. Criticism should also be allocated on these stalwarts for unnecessarily playing dead rubbers and not allowing to develop a consistent bench. Just remember, Vihari has even opened the batting. The decision making has been really really poor.

The biggest mistake of this tour started by beginning with Shaw. That meant KL never started. It meant that once Gill came in on Kohli's departure, he opened instead of batting in the middle. Picking Vihari ahead of SKY 2 years back was already a mistake and why Karun Nair was shunned so mercilessly is a mystery beyond the comprehension of most people. The fact that this team is competing so brilliantly against such a world class attack with so many injuries is a testament to the leadership of Rahane and the calm and tactical prowess he brings. Things seem a lot more turbulent when the captain of the ship is Kohli and the waters are actually quite still.

The Sydney Test always has something Racially associated with it.

From the 2008 Monkey Gate to the Kohli flicking the finger in 2012 (Reason - the crowd was abusive) and now this.

Honestly, Australia have made a bit of a culture change and some idiots are there in all countries. One thing is certain. The Aussies are clearly under pressure.

I suppose the writing is on the wall for India. If they manage to draw this, it would be one hell of a result for them. Australia's bowlers outdid ours this Test and it's no surprise that that has had an effect on the way they are batting as well.

Ya, I don't see us drawing this match with Jadeja not being there, Pant and Bumrah not being 100%.

Reckon Australia will score briskly after the 1st session for 1- 2 hours and will declare at the stroke of tea giving India a target of around 400 or more.
