I think he has injured his hamstring and don't want to increase the damage by running.
I also think he needs to play a bit ahead in the lineup for a few times to gain confidence.

Vihari is a solid batsman in the domestic and very little he has played for India. The problem
right now is his mindset. He has to rotate strike and score runs. 50 deliveries now for just 4 runs. I know its a test match but it looks as if he is stuck in his mind. He really needs to get his head clear.

I was talking generally. Even in the first innings he batted for 40 deliveries for 4 runs, 66 for 20, 25 for 12 and 25 for 8 are his scores. That is almost 40-45 runs in 160 deliveries.

I obviously hate seeing India lose, but if they lose showing the character they have done today, I have no problem with it at all. Pant coming out and batting the way he did despite being injured was amazing to watch. Pujara did try his best, but I guess it just wasn't meant to be. Vihari is clearly in pain, and I don't think even the team management wants him to be out there batting and make it worse. However, it's amazing the courage he has shown so far to keep batting. I also saw Jadeja padded up, which is crazy considering he has suffered a dislocation. I am pretty sure we are going to lose the match, but I have loved the way we have fought in this test despite being down and out.

Oh man .. what GRIT shown by this team. After that 36 all out, who would have thought we would win one and then give a fight like this taking blows after blows. Still don't think we can save this game, but we will definitely go into the next test with a good state of mind - although, I dont know how many of these players will actually play the final Test. Hats off to these guys

- I would lean towards an innocent explanation, especially because it was Smith. The guy's just so in love with batting he was probably lost in the zone and did it automatically.

According to ICC rules, Smith will be warned. Doing this the second time will get him fined.
