India tour of Australia Nov'20-Jan'21

Australia better be damn prepared for Brisbane! India will fight hard and history has shown that India are not easily mowed when they are thrown a spicy pitch. All this sledging about "are you ready for Gabba?" can backfire on Australia easily. We are not that meek Indian side anymore. We have the bowling to annihilate your vulnerable batting lineup. And our batting can fight it out

I expect a great game to end what has been a wonderful series. Something that adds to the recent celebrated history of great India-Australia rivalry.

You can play Ravi Shastri as well but will you? Talk practically. We wont go with 5 bowlers if the third lineup is to be played, so only remaining member if Shaw does not play is Natarajan or Thakur. I feel with Covid, we should really take a large pool of players overseas. 4-5 opening batsman, 7-10 middle order players, 3 all rounders, 7-10 bowlers. BCCI can afford 30 men squad for sure.

You are willing to give Kohli credit for making this team tough I read somewhere? I think the only thing we can give Kohli credit for is making this team fitter and ensuring we have a battery of fast bowlers that can bowl long consistent spells. Other than that, he's a power abusing bloke with little respect for authority. The credit for this remarkable turn around lies totally with the stand in captain and each and every member of this team.

BCCI has done it's best and sent enough people. We have just been horribly unlucky and had a plethora of injuries. I rather Prithvi Shaw be back at the NCA than be with the squad at the moment. We should have received info on the return of Iyer, but who's to ask? Nobody cares about fans like you and me knowing.

Pant will play the next test match and the only thing uncertain is if he will keep. It will come down to a composition and balance thing.

I personally don't understand why the Aussies are so gung-ho about Brisbane mate? Personally and I know I might be belittled for this after the last test but if we see a spicy pitch then the Aussie batters are in more trouble than the Indian batters. I would actually prefer for it to be a normal Brisbane track and not a flat dodo where the three Aussie quicks can pound away at 145 all day consistently.

The biggest thing which I have mentioned repeatedly is that India now feeds off all this "banter." You tell these chaps that they can't do something and a switch just flicks inside of them to prove it otherwise.

Honestly though, even if we encounter an innings defeat at the Gabba, I will say that this has been India's series.

True. I am honestly surprised to see the Aussies give all the hype for Gabba. Maybe they have misconstrued India's concerns about visiting Brisbane as 'their fear to play on a spicy pitch at the Gabba'? India were concerned about quarantine rules and the restriction on freedom to move around. Not about the pitch at all.

And again, I am surprised that despite the Aussies mingling a lot with Indian players during IPL's, they still resort to stupid sledging/banter. Good for India though.

Although he can be power hungry and makes some stupid decisions, I do not agree that he is not responsible for the players mental strength being so strong that they can actually compete anywhere. When we were under Dhoni, his captaincy would make everything better and we would not need everyone to be as skilled as the players are right now. To attribute this all on Rahane is unfair on him.

If threatening to drop players or giving your vice captain and senior batter a dressing down makes them mentally tough then you have my vote!

Are you comparing Dhoni & Kohli as captains?

Nope, there is no comparisons to be made between Dhoni and Kohli as one is apple and other is orange. Just like there should never be a comparison between Kohli and Rahane. I have had my fair share of criticism of Kohli. He is not a good captain at all and I would any day have some like Sharma leading us in limited overs and Rahane in tests, however I wont take away any credit from any one who deserves it. Kohli has made these player mentally and physically strong.

How is Ishant playing SMA Trophy? Shouldn't he stay in Australia and play the 4th test?

Jadeja and Bumrah to miss Brisbane. Doubts over Ashwin and Vihari.

Latest to make the list might be Mayank it seems. Got hit in the nets.

How will this team play four test matches against England next month?

Goodness me !!!!.Can they even put a team on the park in brisbane? Pretty much whoever left standing plays.

Looking bleak for India not being able to put a full strength side, will be a disappointing way to finish after the efforts of Melb and Syd

Karthik Tyagi still in the squad - saw him shaking hands with players yesterday after the match.

So if there are any further injuries they might have draft him as well but with Thakur & Natarajan in the line he will have to be last option then.

Out of curiosity, and pardon my ignorance on this subject, but does erasing one's guard affect the outcome/mess with the batsmen's concentration/somehow aid the bowlers? Isn't it just a case of batsmen taking guard once again by asking the umpire? I mean it wasn't a case of Smith trying to create forced footmarks so that Lyon could exploit it. It was on the crease.

Could be wrong but feel like the whole Smith situation is being blown out of proportion especially by the social media.
