India tour of England 2018

I'm beginning to question why Hardik is also in the side? Is he a proper batsman/bowler?[DOUBLEPOST=1531845818][/DOUBLEPOST]How many unnecessary overthrows has Kohli conceded in the field? No end of yo-yo tests can lend you a brain or cure a hormonal imbalance!

Its gonna be tough for india now...

Its the combination of a mindless captain and a braindead coach who thinks its macho to go against commonsense that is resulting in such selections. Umesh has looked in excellent rhythm right through the tour and on the one occasion that we had slightly bowler-friendly conditions they dropped him. Also, he was the seamer who most looked like getting wickets in all the games so far on tour. Karthik should've played more games that just the one and this love for Raina is baffling. He is a proven failure against good pace and now showing that he is'nt the same against spin either. Add to this the fact that Dhoni is just there on reputation and is just a paper tiger now, we have very little quality in this ODI side. Its just that they are playing in an area of underwhelming ODI sides that they have had this success. The sides that Ganguly/Dhoni led were far more successful beyond what the numbers suggest because they did well against quality opposition and had players who did well on the grandest of stages. Also, Ganguly had an eye for picking the big-match players and backed them. Contrast that to now where someone with abundance of talent like KL Rahul is getting benched for an average player like Raina. Shardul Thakur is a honest trundler but not international class. Mohammad Shami, if he is fit should get a look in for ODIs as well. Bhuvi looks unfit as well.

I'm just hoping that we do not make further selection blunders for the test. For starters, we would do well to keep Nohit out of the test squad altogether. I'm keeping a keen eye on the Eng Lions v Ind A game and it looks like one of Prithwi Shaw or Pant could make for an interesting out of the box pick for the test squad. Even if they do not play a game, they should get exposure in tour games and be with the senior side. For all the good Dhoni has done for Indian cricket, he is not doing it any favor by dragging it along this way. He has made it impossible for us to pick another keeper so close to the WC as we have very little time left. Ideally, had we given more time to guys like Pant or Samson or DK in the past year, we wouldn't be talking of MSD as an absolute certainty. I agree he brings experience but in terms of skills as a batsman he has very little to offer, and I don't see it getting better from here. Winning a world cup is`nt about playing safe. It needs an x-factor in the side. Also, by talking of Pandya and MSD as certainties, we are doing ourselves no favors while arriving at the best possible lineup. To add to the woes, these guys see Pandya as a test match regular as well! I hope we do not go ahead with the macho selections and drop Rahane/Pujara from the test side in order to accommodate Pandya or Sharma![DOUBLEPOST=1531847153][/DOUBLEPOST]
Raina into the attack! Brilliant captaincy this!

How else does the braindead management hope to justify his selection?

Over the last 3 days, England's test side would be high on morale as well, with how well Root's form has come along. Also, Cook's form seems ominous from the England A game.

Absolutely no fight from our boys today. A couple of wickets here can still tickle England!

From India's perspective good to see Rahane in the A squad getting the much needed practise before the tests and from a bowling point Mohammed Siraj picking up a lot of in these first class games.

Is Kohli really this blind to how to captain?

What sort of approach is to let the batsman get constant singles against your spinners whilst opening up the field. Surely a better idea would be to bring in the feild and attack.

I don't know what was bad. Ind batting or Ind bowling. I will call it that this IND will be knocked out from QF Or even GS of WC if Dhoni plays with the current test mindset when the Top order fails.

5th bowler had bowled 6 overs of 10 by the 29th over when the opposition is chasing less than 260! 6- 0/42!

It's hilarious! It was absolutely clear that India needed to bowl England out. Raina and Pandya should not have even bowled till the 31st!

Lesson 101 against England batting is to attack them. England is never going to be a side that will take its time to get to the target. They play fast and aggressive cricket thus you attack them with your best as soon as possible. Might even try and throw them a curve ball and attack with a spinner in the powerplay. Anything to throw them off early and make a game of it.

Yet India starts with Pandya and uses Raina all within the first half of the innings. Poor stuff from India.

Hope this thrashing can "sensify" our Stupendous Coach and Clueless team management. And may be eye-opener for those bits and bites players as well as those, who are In the squad because of reputation and have little to back up for it! Or, we can simply bid WC19 adieu at this very moment, if Pandya remains to be considered a 360 degree player, Rahane still remains to be unfit for ODIs, Dhoni remains to be the numbre uno keeper-batsman, Raina remains to be better fit than Shreyas, DK, even KL Rahul, and Ravi SHITstry remains to be the greatest coach of all time, in Indian cricket!
