India tour of England 2018

Now hearing that Bhuvi will miss the last 2 tests as well. Kudos to the management who managed his workload so well that he has now missed the most important series we are playing this year where he could have made the most impact for India. Shastri can just fearsome tweak off and take Sanjay Bangar and R Sridhar with him.

P.S Hope Rishabh does well

I really hope India can put up a good performance. Missing Bhuvi for sure. His swing would have been very useful alongside Shami and Ishant. I fell Pant and DK should both play to strengthen India's batting but then the balance of the side does not remain. Bumrah bowls like Hardik so if India want better bowling then go for Bumrah and have Pant in place of Kuldeep Yadav.

It is a real insult to Bumrah to suggest that he bowls like Hardik. Hardik is muscular, whereas Bumrah is an academician.[DOUBLEPOST=1534528498][/DOUBLEPOST]
Pant over DK? What a lame selection. Changing for the sake of changing. Exactly why we are in this spot in the first place. And I've seen this injury excuse to cover up a lot by this management!
If you are looking for masculinity and tattoos, DK is your man.

If you want intelligent and efficient cricket, Rishabh Pant is the mode of living.

in fairness if you played us in June/July it could well have been a different story. But...……...you didn't :p
I bet it would've been slightly different as it would've been under the British heatwave. It's a shame still that the Indian batsmen cannot put up a good fight even if struggling in conditions that don't suit them.

All I would do (if I were Kohli and the management) is play Nair for Pandya and Yadav/Bumrah for Kuldeep. I would strengthen our batting by including Nair in the team. I would also back our 3 seamers to do the job and not rely on Pandya. I know Pandya got some runs in the last innings but to be honest, he is neither a batsman nor a bowler and in these conditions, it gives the other batsmen a better security to have an extra specialist batsman in the XI.

Team should back Dinesh Karthik here if they really want to groom a proper wicketkeeper bat for test cricket after Saha. Saha was given a lot of opportunities and still he has not delivered. DK has just got 2 tests. Give him atleast another test before taking a call. I would play him the entire tour. No knee jerk reactions yet on the rest of the batsmen. It would actually give them confidence if they are persisted with after the Lord's debacle. All they need is a firm re-assuring hand on their shoulders and some solid pep talk.

My gut feeling is that this Test is gonna end up as a Draw.

I know what you mean. Seeing England do well at home is great for me obviously but come to expect it in these conditions. See us do well in the dry conditions against India would have meant a lot more[DOUBLEPOST=1534572040][/DOUBLEPOST]

By that you clearly mean 3-0 :p

Why just another test? Why don't we tell a bloke? "Right, you've proven your worth in domestic cricket and we know without MS you would have been an integral part of Indian cricket. You've got a lot of cricket left in you, you're fit, we give you 6 months to prove your worth." THAT is leadership. Also, his keeping has been decent and in fact, DK has been dismissed bowled/lbw because he has got brutes. I didn't see him nick off apart from one innings. Pant has the X factor and he can change a test match. The talent is there but at some point, he too will need support from the management. Just don't see it happening.

Just remember, DK opened the batting in England last time we won there and he did really well too. People who say he's out of form are out of their head. He has been batting as well as anyone I've ever seen bat!

Also, what wrong did Yadav do to suddenly be below Bumrah in the pecking order?

DK's scores in the last trip he had in England while opening the batting-

5, 60, 77, 22, 91, 8.

263 runs in 6 innings @ 44. Scores Kohli would dream of in England in 2014!

Instead of giving a bloke security and encouraging him, we allow the media to question his place and run him insecure. Just for the record, I have seen Pant keep and he is about the same level as DK in that department. His batting is unknown but could be something to watch out for. I just don't see the logic in the change. Might work/might not.

Wow. Not just one, but three changes

Dhawan is back in for Vijay
Pant for DK
Bumrah for kuldeep

And we lost the toss yet again

At times I feel bad for kohli. By the time his captaincy run ends, he will he gathered so many haters despite being a world class batsman. And then his buddy Shaz won't have his back either

How unfair is this side to Umesh Yadav. Played on helpless wickets at home and got wickets at crucial times, bowled with pace and accuracy. Did not get a game in SA and gets dropped after doing notuch wrong at Birmingham. The last spell he bowled was a 2/20 in the 2nd innings at Birmingham where even Shami went wicketless. People are building up Bumrah as some test match great when the reality is that he bowled on some minefields in SA where everyone got wickets.

Also, Pandya keeps getting picked for no reason at all. What exactly has he shoen in these 10 tests to be an indispensible member of this test side?[DOUBLEPOST=1534586172][/DOUBLEPOST]
One of the most solid openers in world cricket dropped after showing a hint of bad form. Will surely do wonders to his confidence.

This game of musical chairs has just ruined what was a settled batting lineup. I dont see any of them recovering from this.

How many overs until we are two wickets down with both openers back in the hut... Any wagers?

I say we will dhawan within the first 2 overs. And 15/2 within 10 overs

What is the intelligence quotient of this XI?

Is kohli in the side? I thought his back is injured[DOUBLEPOST=1534588596][/DOUBLEPOST]Oh man, the sky is full of clouds, at normal days it sunny, during test matches it's cloudy
