Buttler was so woefully out of form in the first two tests and then we let him have some fun in the 1st innings at Nottingham which freed him up. Now, he looks like a real thorn in the flesh for us. This two could very easily put on a quick 100-run partnership which then allows the likes of Curran and Ali to get England to 300+.

Ashwin should be bowling to Stokes when he is new!

It might be a good idea for Ashwin to come on in the next bit. Buttler and Stokes both struggle against him so having him on a few overs before lunch would be good.

Not sure how hard that Butler's drop was, but Shami seems to be the unlucky recipient on many occasions now. Earlier, it used to be Umesh but seems like he has passed on the mantle to Shami.

Mainly good bowling for the most part. Bumrah set up Jennings beautifully, and the balls that got Root and Bairstow were excellent. Cook threw it away playing at a wide one. It was a good morning for India.

With that dropped catch of Butler, Im still wary of an encore of the Stokes-Butler partnership from Nottingham.

Best spell Bumrah has bowled all his life. That front foot habit is very worrisome and extremely careless!

Great Day for us till now. Our bowlers have been exceptional and have been taking the team forward which is refreshing to see in this series.

Just get the feeling, we are going to see a lot of frustrating tail wagging if England are not 6 down by lunch.

And they have a long long tail. Curran at 8. And Broad can stick around as well.

Job is only half done right now. But excellent stuff from the pacers. Wish we had Bhuvi through this series. The scoreline might have been different

Stokes is showing some real good fight. India must not let the tail bat well with him and make those mistakes of not being able to get the tailenders out. They could easily just throw that good start away now. England's lower order more than capable of taking England to 250+.

Horrible stuff from Pandya. This is what is the problem. To let Curran score runs in every innings just shows a lack of game awareness. Right from the start it was clear that Pandya isnt bowling well today .Why not bowl Ashwin and rotate the bowlers from the other end. You dont have to use your 5th bowler if you can bowl them out in 50 overs. This may not look alarming yet but I feel the tide is changing for England.

That's exactly the problem with Bumrah and Pandya. Both these bowlers are allergic to maidens and the concept of accurate bowling.
