India tour of Ireland (2 T20Is) & England (1 Test, 3 ODIs & 3 T20Is)

Just make Hardik Pandya your keeper, captain, coach, drinks guy already! He can do anything and everything!

Hardik's era has begun!

This has to be a contender for one of the worst T20I innings of all-time.

Ali to score 5 ball 100 and win this on his own! Superman Ali to the rescue.

So far I'm liking our batting approach to T20Is in this 'new' era. Still a long way to go and we're still lacking the courage to sometimes absolutely go for the kill on some of the flattest surfaces but these signs are promising. England's death bowling unit has always had some good ideas lacking execution so I wouldn't worry too much about it in the very first game, it was just their day.

I've always wondered why you were blasting him previously ever since his Ashes stint as he wasn't as awful on paper as you suggested but good golly he looks completely inept in action. Has it always been this way?
He can't play the moving ball which is why he should never have opened in test cricket. I seem to remember him being bewitched by Colin de Grandhomme in the World Cup final cause he was getting some movement.

There was a lot more movement tonight, from each end too, which is unusual.

DK seems to be having a mare behind the stumps

Oh yes there was no rationale to him opening the batting in red ball cricket given he basically was a middle-order batsman in county cricket.

DK is somehow managing to still underwhelm my already low expectations of him as a keeper. Wonder why we've selected him as a keeper when he's clearly shown that he's no good at consistently keeping well.

Hardik's day all over!! Ever since he was given IPL captaincy of Gujarat Lions, he has been on a mighty roll!

Arshdeep has started off really well and pretty confident that he can turn into an excellent T20 bowler for India. I rate him far higher than the overhyped Harshal Patel. I hope that when Bumrah comes in next match, it is done in replacement for Harshal and not for Arshdeep.

I see Bumrah and Arshdeep as similar types of bowlers in that they're very good at the death, can bowl well in the powerplay and are primarily bowlers that are just hard to hit for boundaries and runs usually. I'm not too sure of how well they would function together when they do serve similar roles. A bit intrigued to find out if they do play together.

Harshal Patel for me is a curious case. I expect him to get thrashed every game like Thakur and yet he hasn't been as bad as the latter. He only seems to go for over 10 rpo one game per series. He's also shown some impressive quality with his variations at times that Thakur had not. And whilst he hasn't shown it yet he's a very decent slogger to have down the order. I'm no fan of him and I have no idea of how effective he'll be on the Aussie surfaces but you can't deny that he's here on merit and he offers a unique set of skills that our team lacks in terms of middle overs pace and lower order batting. Bumrah (even the revamped one), Arshdeep, Chahal and Bhuvi is just too long a tail given that our only decent option with the bat is not particularly good at slogging in the end.

Where can I watch the Sky Feed, the sony broadcast is horrible.

Ha ha ! tough luck mate!

Not sure if they have digital subscriptions that can be used anywhere. If you are in the Africas though, try Supersport.

The thing I like about SKY is the picture quality is far better than Sony, especially given the fact that Sony is riddled with Pan masala Replays and logos.

So Deepak Hooda has done so well with all the opportunities he has got and now will sit because an out of form Kohli will be back? BS! Drop Ishan Kishan, have Kohli open with Sharma and leave Hooda in the team

Looks like Arshdeep will also not play as he’s not a part of the squad anymore. What a huge disappointment.

This. Deepak Hooda is turning out to be a really high value proposition in that middle order, with his brand of batting and also the useful off spin that he offers. After the way he has batted so far, it would be a crime to drop him.

If Kohli has to play, it should be in place of Kishan.
