All eyes are on spinners. Kuldeep and Chahal are out of form and Chahar and Chakravarthy are inexperienced but in-form. Three of them will be selected for ICC WT20.

Varun is not predictable, that's why he will be the obvious choice for T20. I will not select Yuzi. Rahul will be more valuable in UAE.

I would rather back our experienced pair of Kuldeep and Chahal. We also have Sundar so I doubt if Rahul Chahar or Varun Chakravarthy can be in the WT20 squad.

We also have Sundar

I want Varun to replace him in the ICC WT20 squad. Varun can add the mystery element in this predictable attack. It will be very difficult for any batter to apply sweep shot against him. He was very successful in UAE for genuine wicket- taking variations. Sundar is a defensive bowler. He needs to work more. He could be a test match specialist.

The fact is that Varun hasn't played for India. If he was in the plans he would've already made it to the Final XI. Bowling in IPL and getting wickets there is a lot different than playing for India. Sundar hasn't performed badly for India to be dropped. So I really doubt whether he would make it.

He looked out of form when he couldn't bowl a decent ball against England.
He is more like a confidence bowler. He will bowl well only when he is confident about his bowling. Possibly this is the best opportunity where he can get few wickets and raise his level of confidence.

This is series is going to be so boring. Hopefully Sri Lanka can put up some fight. Happy to see Pandey given opportunity. This is probably his last chance.

Shaw could be our version of Jason Roy, causing havoc with his ultra aggression. How long until the calls start for him to be a permanent member?

I would have liked to see Kishan at five as he usually bats there for the reserve side but I doubt his approach is going to be any different there. Promising signs so far.

Only a matter of time before Shaw gets into the limited overs side! The Sehwag'esque gameplay and the backing that the current team management has in him, should get him into the limited overs side quickly. I am not sure how much he fixed his technique after that Australia tour, but as Sehwag proved it, technique won't matter much in limited overs where hand-eye coordination, timing and power will get you a pretty successful international career.

Also, can we now have a sound bite from Arjuna Ranatunga please? :rolleyes:p:D The current Sri Lankan national team probably could still lose heavily against an "India-D" side. India is just so filled with riches of talent right now, due to its domestic system that it is soon starting to mirror the Aussie side of the heydays where they were so hugely complimented for an excellent feeder system that kept feeding great players into the national team and made them look an invincible side.
