India

I have a feeling we must try out Sreesanth back again. Nothing wrong in trying it for the next match where it will most likely not be a knockout. The guy took a caning in the Bangladesh match, but he is aggressive and is someone who can bounce back with the kind of attitude he has. In such campaigns, people like him bring the life back into the contest and our campaign so far has been meandering so slowly.

Here would be my team against West Indies

Sachin
Sehwag
Gambhir
Kohli
Yuvraj
Dhoni
Raina
Harbhajan
Ashwin
Zaheer
Sreesanth

Have given up on Gambhir being dropped for Raina (coz he wont be). In Chennai (probably in ODI's), Raina is the better option than Yusuf. Ashwin for Nehra is very simple. Dhoni should take a punt on Sreesanth. Since Ashwin will be in the side, Ashwin will bowl the Powerplay overs along with Zaheer, and Sreesanth can bowl a lil' bit of the Powerplay and as much as possible in the middle overs. That will be 3 changes from last game. This will be a really nice team. Hope Dhoni hears me!:D

I think Munaf has been doing pretty well tbh. He has taken 9 wickets at an average of 23, and an economy rate of less than 6. hardly worth dropping!

An economy rate of less than 6 isn't really anything to be proud of

If we get to know what the situation for the QF would be much before our game against WI, we should try out Sreesanth in place of someone. Munaf bowls decent economy, but gives away more runs through his slack fielding and disgusting attitude. Same with Nehra. Sreesanth is not an excellent fielder, but he is very safe on the field (in cases, he is quite athletic). And with him, you dont know when he can hit form. And if he does, he can win us matches.

I kinda agree with you Sai, nothing wrong in trying out Sree. He won't do worse than Munaf IMO, whereas Munaf got most of his wickets against tailenders and lower order batsmen.
Against England and South Africa he was totally crap.

We should have carried an injured Praveen throughout the tournament. He would have been fir by now.
Havign said that, Sai's point is quite valid here- try out Sreesanth. And for the umpteenth time =Get in R Ashwin. Hope Ashwin is not in the side for sight-seeing !

I am also looking for Sree and Ashwin to get a game. But I know Dhoni will look for Munaf again as he don't have agood repo with Sreesanth. Dhoni must think about the Team now, and should keep aside ego

If we are sure of a spot in the Quarter Finals ahead our game on Sunday, I'd definitely like to see the likes of Raina, Sreesanth and Ashwin play in that game.

We will be sure of a spot by Sunday. If England win tomorrow, we are in irrespective of the Ban-Saf encounter. If England lose, we are in again. The match on Sunday only determines our position in the group.

We just cannot underestimate Bangladesh. Its been seen in the past that South African batsmen do struggle against the spinners and Bangladeshi team has got some quality spinners. So, if the Bangladeshi team plays according to their potential then we might see a big upset in this world cup but still the South African team is the favorite to win their match against Bangladesh.

I agree, we should give Raina, Ashwin and Sreesanth a chance in the match against West Indies.

I feel Sreesanth isn't an ideal bowler for ODI's on Indian tracks. [A career economy of over 6!!] I would keep Munaf and get Ashwin in for Nehra. i wonder though how Ashwin would be feeling..he has the most support currently from the whole of India...{maybe behind Sachin} He would be in quite a bit of pressure though.

India goes through by virtue of their superior run-rate. unless we get bundled out for a meagre total, I do not see us crashing out of the Cup, though we so deserve it.
