Indian Domestic Cricket

god what is this performance?

North Zone scored just 60 runs in 23 overs (bowled out).
Warwickshire did it in 22.5

The power of Kaverappa.

He’s got a fifer in his last three games. And Punjab Kings thought this guy wasn’t good enough to play ahead of their local injury replacement who had minimal experience.

So, the BCCI finally invited interested parties to bid for media rights.

From what I'm hearing, they also reached out to Amazon and Google to ensure there's a high degree of excitement all around.

Based on personal observations:

1. The BCCI might get a valuation similar to the one they got last time
2. Interest in bilateral Tests and ODIs is waning
3. Indian performances are shoddy- even at home
4. Tests usually get done within 3 days
5. India hasn't been playing a settled line up- no one wants to watch when Bumrah captains one series and Rohit captain every 3rd game.

The interesting piece I noted is the fact that the BCCI may cancel the entire process should it not be able to more than 3 times the base bid price. The fact that they've factored in this clause speaks a lot.

This is the first time I've heard of media rights being bought so reluctantly. It looks like government subsidies will be needed here. After all, we are talking about the popularisation of sports in India.

Reliance's Viacom has won the Tv +Digital rights to stream India's home games for a 5 year period. The valuation was around INR 67 Crore per game.

Marks the beginning of a new era in sports broadcast, with Disney+Star virtually owning nothing. I was quite surprised that Sony didn't go hard on these considering that they don't have a single property of value with them

What is the youngest you think a FC debutant can be aged? 16? 15? Try 12. Yep, this is from the same Bihar scandal thingy that's been going on.

And he actually seems to have been picked partially on merit: he scored 2 50s in 6 inns, in a U19 quadrangular series including Bangladesh and England
