Indian Premier League - General Discussion

Hyderabad was just too good for Royals.

Big game day tomorrow with CSK vs KKR! A game that has assumed significant political hype too, with the Tamil Nadu-Karnataka Cauvery river issue (and the calls for ban on sterlite in Thoothukudi) raging in the foreground and political parties asking for a ban of tomorrow's IPL game to ensure that political issues are not sidelined by the game. Dinesh Karthik will lead Kolkata against his home state team, Chennai and that's another nice little battle in itself. Karthik was glorified after that Nidahas trophy knock. Now people in Chennai have to support against him. Wonder what atmosphere awaits Ashwin when he comes to Chennai, captaining Punjab. :p :D

David Willey has been signed by CSK, but I doubt he will be able to take part in tomorrow's game (he should be available for the April 15th game against Punjab).

Excellent win by SRH! Again just like the past seasons, our bowling has shined once more. Surprising Billy Stanlake played instead of someone like Nabi or Hales but good decision in the end. Having someone creating awkward bounce for batsmen and consistently bowling 145 kmph would definitely play a huge part in the bowling. Too early to say, but SRH look like they have one of the best attacks in the IPL. Rashid Khan and Shakib keeping it tight with Stanlake a wickettaker and Bhuvi and Kaul good at the death.

Saha needs to get consistent opportunities opening, he's far capable of making a big one at the top than down the order finishing things off. Dhawan played another great knock again, this guy has been in great form since the SA series. Hopefully he can make up for Warner's absence get many runs.

This Royals side seems to be lacking good Indian bowlers. Looks like they are just way too dependent on the likes of Kulkarni and Unadkat to take wickets. Their bowling department is very thin and top overseas guy there is Jofra Archer.

Big mistake made by Royals today not sending Tripathi to bat with Rahane. D'Arcy Short can come down at three but this guy has put in some real good performances for RPS last year opening.

Rahul Tripathi will be wasted down the order if he continues to be there. Rahane and Tripathi did a great job for Pune last year and Tripathi being explosive will allow Rahane to settle in and anchor the innings. Short might be explosive and an opener and all, but nothing beats the communication and comfort between two Indian batsman (who speak similar language). Short could rather be used at some other spot.

Really sorry if this has already been discussed and I've missed.

Is anybody else missing that old team of Extraa Innings T20 - Samir, Gaurav, Joshua, Sidhu, Akram, Gavaskar, Shibani etc. ..? 'Cricket Live' is such a pathetic show with all the self proclaimed experts with all the pathetic analysis and discussion headed by Mayanti.

That entertainment, analysis, TV graphics, atmosphere etc... of SET Max cannot be replaced by any other channel. Even the camera angle is not giving that feel which SET Max used to give. It seems like I'm watching an international match on Star Sports (Camera Angles).

KKR's batting depth is not so good. Although everyone can play, they have batsman who can fail all together..

And Russel goes bonkers! He is killing CSK right now!

What a knock Russell's playing! Literally slaughtering Bravo.

9 sixes!
