It is indeed time for RCB to dismantle itself and for that city to come back in under a new name, new owner, new captain and a new look. They've just been horrendously bad and keep hitting nadirs every season. After a point, you feel bad for the city because Karnataka has a good domestic setup and yet this team that tries to represent them, is embarrassing them for so long.

The more and more Kohli and RCB perform like this, I wonder when will the Indian players (especially the ones who captain their IPL sides successfully) stop taking Kohli seriously when they play under him in India colors? You can't brush it off on other things always. There is something so fundamentally wrong with his captaincy and the fact that Gambhir brought this up before this IPL and yet Kohli brushed it off, points to something so bad in Indian cricket where "a personality becomes so powerful that nothing can shake him". And that's not at all good. This is where Sachin took a call and gave up captaincy and steadfastly refused captaincy whenever it was given to him. If he had acted like Kohli, he'd been captain for long and India would've done badly and never would've got Ganguly and Dhoni.

No. You need ABD in the middle order. This game of musical chairs on the second opener's spot has to stop. One game Moeen opens, one game Heytmer, few games Kohli. This is nonsense. If Heinrich Klassen has joined the team, he should open with Parthiv. If not, then Marcus Stoinis should open with Parthiv.

And god knows why is Kohli not playing Sundar. He did not play Sundar on a spin heavy pitch of Chennai. Sundar is not only an offspinner; he is a Powerplay offspinner (who can bowl in Powerplays). And he is also a very useful batsman who has starred with the bat many times in TNPL (Tamil Nadu Premier League). Sundar was handled expertly by Fleming, Dhoni and Smith when he played for Rising Pune Supergiants. And then, he was purchased by RCB and that was for the worse of Sundar.

I think it's a good move of Kohli opening the batting but he has to play the role of aggressor rather than being an anchor. In 2016 IPL Kohli opened for entire season and played as an aggressor and the result of he got 4 hundreds and almost 1000 runs that season and also RCB were in Finals and nearly won it !!!

I don't feel that RCB in any way need to "come back in under a new name, new owner, new captain and a new look" - they can quickly get their mojo back with some sensible selections though I agree with the comments that some of the captain's decisions are rightly coming under scrutiny.

I can't fathom how Sundar, Southee and Coulter-Nile are not getting game time either. I expect them to turn up on Friday home to Kolkata! After all, the only way is up for RCB!
