Indian Premier League - General Discussion

On to Mohali for match 13 - hopefully not unlucky thirteen for Mr C H Gayle - I hope for him to have another field day... or evening.

That's the Accuweather forecast for later tonight - touching 30c and hazy.

And with IPL going on in comes another injury and who it is ? It's the Universe Boss :facepalm

This can hurt Windies if he doesn't recover in time. I hope it's nothing serious. The Windies look so good for the WC with Gayle in this sort of form.

Why have a 60-day long tournament like IPL before the WC ? :mad

Now on the match

What a good little innings from Sam Curran in just his 2nd IPL match !!!! Unfortunately he got out. He always looks good when he bats. Don't know what does he have in Breakfast everyday that being a bowling all-rounder he does so well with the bat :spy

Delhi choking again. No need for Pant to do that, just hit a six then got bowled, so much time to get the runs needed. Then Morris run out, now Ingram holes out. Maybe they are trying for another super over?

Sam is a Surrey boy of course - still looks about twelve!

7 wickets lost for 8 runs in just 17 deliveries is a collapse even greater than an England test team!

Incredible drama, well, the game needed it.

A couple of observations. Karun Nair took a catch as a sub fielder. I don't know what he has to do to get his place back in the KXIP side.

And does anyone know the whereabouts of Sachin Baby? I think he was at RCB last season but I have not noticed him yet in this IPL.

So I have made some research into Sachin Baby and it seems that there was some unrest last year in the Ranji Trophy.

He is selfish, arrogant, temperamental and behaves in an authoritarian way, (when the team wins, he takes credit, and when the team loses, he puts the blame on the players) all the time.

Apparently he was at Sunrisers last IPL but was not retained.

I think you have hit very close to home here. When we are so passionate about our chosen team we can be blinkered on other peripheral but important matters.

If CSK are a Mercedes then I think quite often they drive like a Mazda.

I also admire AbD but feel that while there is still fire there, he should not be coming in at number four - how do you feel about that?

AB can bat anywhere. He has the game. Proven thing. Personally I always felt 3 is his number. The biggest thing is having roles in a team.. RCB has none.

I think you are probably right with number three. Just in that game I think they could have stated their intentions better had they opened with their two best batters. I will be watching him again soon though I have not included him in my fantasy team today. I think it may well be his last IPL?

IMO AB will definitely play for a couple of years in IPL

And on batting number I completely agree with the view of batting him at no.3. I think Kohli opening with Parthiv followed by AB at 3 and Hetmyer at 4 makes it a completely destructive batting line-up

I have enjoyed his career a lot. If it's the last, then I have enough memories to keep me happy. I'll enjoy it while it lasts. The world cup 2015 will always hurt me.. For me, as an Indian to be so desperately hoping he lifts the cup is probably a good indication how much it still hurts. But, that's life.

Would absolutely run naked from the Himalayas to the Palk strait to see him play in the yellow jersey led by MSD.

Watching the build up good old Baz (Brendon McCullum) just endorsed that saying AbD must bat at three. I just don't rate Hetmyer but it's so early and he must retain the opportunity?

I disagree with Sangakarra on Virat batting at three, I think he needs to be in from the get-go.

Here comes the toss with Danny Morrison...

Ajinkya throws, Virat calls Heads but it is tails and RCB are going to bat first.

PS. We think you can run from the Himalayas to the Chidambaram but perhaps not naked. :D
