Indian Premier League - General Discussion

People those don't like the normal commentary may try Dugout. It's way better and as an addition, there ain't any ads.
Yeah its good but Scott Styris and Dean Jones spoils it for me - they are like the Firangi versions of Manjrekars and Gavaskars.

So the rumors were bang on buck

With all due respect, this is a bad idea. Styen is not effective in T20s as he is in Tests. Won't be surprised to see him getting clobbered, especially after little or no cricket that Styen has played of late.
He still has fuel left in him unlike someone from his national team.

He will prove to be a good signing. Mark my words!!!! Better than Tim Southee in any format.

And of course, Gill plays so well when he's finally given a chance in his natural position. Him and Narine should be the opening pair going forward instead of Lynn, who I frankly think is overrated. Gill could be that steady accumulator (that can also go big if needed) who'll stabilize the KKR batting lineup.

That was a simple no-ball . Why don't the umpires just go upstairs for checking ??

This international cricket will go shambles due to umpiring . Not using the technological facility is an insult to Science .

Shubhman Gill should open more often for KKR . The more time he spends on the crease better are his chances of doing well and playing a constructive innings.

Prasidh Krishna is such a good bowler when he gets it right. He has height and has significantly increased his pace form last season. However, just as Saini and Siraj, he is not consistent enough. If they can get a bit more accurate, they can be lethal.

Not only that, but RCB don't really need him. They lack a good specialist death overs bowler. They already have wicket taking options in Siraj, Umesh and Saini. Seems so unnecessary to get another wicket taking bowler in. If RCB were smart, they'd have went for that Aussie quick Matt Kelly and got him quicker than KKR did. His yorkers are so accurate and on point, had a very good economy too in the BBL. Now RCB will have to rely all on Stoinis for death bowling, and there's only so much he can do. Pretty poor thinking from RCB management.

Forget being captain, Rahane shouldn't even be in an IPL team. Worse, he ate a review!!

It was nice to see Rohit playing well in his comeback match but then he gave his wicket away in since then things have looked dull for MI. Thanks to De Kock and Hardik that they got to a decent total but didn't really understand what was Pollard thinking today that he gave away all that hardwork of scoring quick in Powerplay. And the way Buttler is playing at the moment I see a comfortable win for the Royals

Now a bit off topic

The decision from Ingram to go for those big hits Yesterday seemed absurd especially when his partner was batting on 97 with team needing 10 to win from 9 balls

Geez! We Indians need to get over this obsession of three figure mark. There was a leggie bowling to a left lander and considering how Delhi managed to choke in the couple of games it was wiser to finish the match asap and not take it to the last over.

Yesterday's game was an outstanding example of the way statistics dictate our sport. Cockroaches like Manjerekar will sing hymns of Joseph till he gets clattered for 50 in 4. He bowled well, but the game was won by and far by Rahul Chahar. He was the star of the game and if people had held on to his catches, he might have got 5.

Did I call this or not? Manjerekar now critical of MI for playing Joseph ahead of Malinga and calling that spell a statistical anomaly. It's amazing how he was on air when Joseph was being clattered by Buttler!

We keep feeding revenue to a poor broadcaster and a premiere league dominated by average and poor organisation.
