Stokes to open, why RR? You don't have proper middle order who can be a finsher too, so you can use him in that role...

I don't know what their thinking was but I don't think it's a bad idea. Get him into the get game early, opening allows him time to get up to speed and get himself in rather than coming in and hit straight away. I still think a lot of people think Stokes is a one dimensional slogger.

Smith is perfectly capable of finishing things so I'd have had him at four and Samson at 3.

The fact Rajasthan have chopped and changed the top order so much after winning two games would suggest they no idea what they're doing.

Shankar has been tidy with the ball so far but Samad should've still played ahead of him. Hyderabad need to back him and give him more chances, he's showed glimpses of what he can do with some big sixes and with the right backing he can become handy down the order.
