Indian Premier League - General Discussion

Looks like Mumbai gambling with options from bench, more like gambling chance to stay in top two. Hardik rested, only 5 genuine batting options today. I thought they'd again go full strength looking for a win and to cement a spot in top two. But, these changes are out of nowhere. I was rather keen on to Lynn & Kulkarni, but we've got Jayant & NCN. It's a descent looking lineup regardless, would be marvelous if they manage to win.

Hope Chahar learns from last two games and doesn't bowl too many leggies from round the wicket against left handers. It's always a bad choice and he got severely punished for that.

MI manage to be well balanced on that front as well. They have a protea, a Caribbean chap, an Aussie and a kiwi.

Is Hardik's fitness something that has gone under the radar for this season? With all the hoopla around Sharma's own concerns with that hamstring injury, it seems odd that no one is pointing out Hardik still not being ready for bowling with his new action and him generally providing underarm throws whilst fielding. Does not bode well for India's future if their premier pace all-rounder is fragile to this extent.

Is Rohit Sharma the best captain or captain of the best team?

The latter but that doesn't mean both him and Polly are not very good leaders by any means as shown by their previous experiences as captains.

Very disappointed with AB and Phillippe here .. they really needed to carry on. Rebuilding phase again now

The blame lies more with AB considering Josh's lack of experience. To be honest, the spell Nadeem and Rashid bowled to them was absolutely high class.

I think Pandey already knew that the ball fell on the ground before coming into his hands and thought that no one saw.

What was the need of that shot? It’s not like SRH need some NRR boost...

RCB is in trouble too! Oh this IPL..... the ups and downs! Lucky for SRH that their game vs Mumbai is the final match of this league stage and due to their superb NRR, they will have their fate in their own hands. Win and qualify, lose and go home. They are the only team for whom things look crystal clear at the moment as to what needs to be done.

Punjab has to win tomorrow vs CSK and hope other results go their way (lose and they go home). RR v KKR play an virtual elimination match and the winner has to pray for other results go to their way. RCB and DC play a virtual qualifier match and the winner has to pray for other results to go their way. This is seriously super from the tournament perspective. God, how good would it've been if CSK was still in the hunt (though, my blood pressure'd have been off the roof :D)

Dominating win that from SRH. Just need to win the last one against MI and we're through. This lineup we are fielding nowadays, is the best we can get. Saha has been a revelation, and Holder has also been good in his all round skills. Hope we can at least reach the playoffs.

BTW, how badly have I underestimated Saha as an opening batsman... He has a strike rate of 154 in T20s while opening.

@SaiSrini take a moment to feel the pain people like me are feeling with RCB! I actually knew this was going to happen. I am not posting this out of any self proclamation or boasting.. Just pain!!

I have seen AB go through feelings which I have felt for 15 years now and it looms large again. Take this post with a pinch of salt for what you are experiencing with CSK because this is what people like me experience every fuc/< ing year!!!

Called the team before forget a ball was bowled but before 3 games!

Hyderabad and Bangalore games have always been a true rival clash over the past few seasons with all the tussles over playoff spots, a mostly even record for both teams and that 2016 final. Thought SRH were good value for their win after the way they bowled.

Funniest moment of the game might be Kohli implying that the toss was a bad one to lose and that they couldn't predict that dew would play such a huge role later on.. only to say a few moments later that dew has been prevalent in Dubai and Sharjah over the last few games in the post-match presentation. What makes it even funnier is that Kohli was extremely confident about batting first with the pitch being dry and slowing down as the game progresses at the toss so he did not mind losing the toss. To think that this man is our national captain! :lol
