Indian Premier League - General Discussion

I want that weed you're smoking right now.

Still cookin' !!!! It will be on sale likely by the end of the year when the mega auctions are closer to happen :D

On a serious note - Mumbai is not a captain dependent team, and probably another captain can lead them forward equally well. If Ishan continues to bat this way, why would they want to lose him to another team? He looks good to have a really long and an illustrious IPL career (even if his international returns are hot and cold). Imagine if Ishan goes to another team and plays really well for them and stays with one team for 3 auction cycles (i.e. 9 years), he makes them really strong. Mumbai are known to look long term and thats why I felt that. And not just me, I am reading similar things on Twitter about this :D

As for CSK, their strategy of going for the experienced folks has worked for them and so why not Rohit? Releasing Rohit can work for MI and getting Rohit can work for CSK. It could be a win-win.

CSK : MSD : : MI : Rohit :)

Everything will depend on the rules that they come up with for the auction.

I think from a CSK perspective, which will be my home once AB packs up I would rather that they go all out for Ishan Kishan than Rohit. Knowing how they operate, I think they will go for a young-medium term Indian cricketer and make him captain.

Needless to say that if that happens to be KL Rahul I will be doing backflips.

Let's have a reality check.
Rahul is gonna stay in PBKS.
Rohit is gonna stay at MI.

Kishan, a lot depends on his 2021 performances. If he bucks up well. Surely MI will use RTM towards him.

I think for MI. Retaining Rohit Pandya Bumrah and then using RTM on Pollard and Kishan will be the key. I am afraid that they have to go off Krunal.

They would also lose SKY in this scenario. Highly likely that he will be expensive anyways so they might go big for him without a RTM using the cash from Krunal's absence.

The way Ishan is playing with confidence & responsibility, that's really special. Don't worry! If Mumbai didn't retain him, CSK will take him as Dhoni's replacement for 2022 season. :D

Honestly a pitch like Wankhede is better for him than a pitch like Chennai

Nothing has happened though ppl didn't wear masks properly. Chennai and Ahmedabad are doing fine.

Just sharing - the curve is rising again. No one is officially going to admit that crowd in stadium is possibly one of the factors for this (even when it gets much worse in another couple of weeks) because that would be akin to blaming the Govt and the stakeholders of Motera stadium.

Also Chennai cases have had steep rise in last 2 days.

Honestly he is the best wicket-keeper batsman in India, who can replace legend like MSD in CSK's den now. He can be the next CSK captain, if he comes to CSK. He also have close connection with Mahi. Ishy needs to think wisely. ;)

Get Sachin as well so a little more easier for me to switch over to CSK. :p

Oh you're welcome dude!!

If Ishan Kishan gets into the auction, CSK should go all out on him and thats for sure. But knowing how long term MI think, I had the feeling that maybe they might let Rohit go for Ishan considering the age.

Anyways I'd love it if Ishan is released and CSK go all out on him and get him. Gonna be tough for CSK if Ishan is released coz lot of teams will be lining up for him, but anyways will be interesting if he ends up with Chennai. I wouldn't worry about the Chepauk wicket and Kishan's batting. He is already showing adaptability skills by adding offside play to his game after starting off as a leg side basher. To me, he looks like the India version of Quinton De Kock.

^ True. With so much star power, it's surprising to see them not win a single edition till date.

Starc might change that this time though.
It is very disappointing to see them lose even after having such a good lineup.
Maybe it's their bad luck that they can't seem to win the IPL after qualifying in the finals .

bad luck? luck? it isnt about luck, its about handling the pressure, which RCB lacks. It about the team balance, which RCB lacks in most season. Its about taking right calls at right time, which RCB lacks. Its not about luck, its about better execution, overall.
