Indian Premier League - General Discussion

It is very disappointing to see them lose even after having such a good lineup.
Maybe it's their bad luck that they can't seem to win the IPL after qualifying in the finals .

Oh you're welcome dude!!

If Ishan Kishan gets into the auction, CSK should go all out on him and thats for sure. But knowing how long term MI think, I had the feeling that maybe they might let Rohit go for Ishan considering the age.

Anyways I'd love it if Ishan is released and CSK go all out on him and get him. Gonna be tough for CSK if Ishan is released coz lot of teams will be lining up for him, but anyways will be interesting if he ends up with Chennai. I wouldn't worry about the Chepauk wicket and Kishan's batting. He is already showing adaptability skills by adding offside play to his game after starting off as a leg side basher. To me, he looks like the India version of Quinton De Kock.

I get the de Kock reference but the only thing that he has better is his backlift and as a result of that his bat swing. His entire power is generated through his back lift which is why you will find he has no issue playing raw pace.

I think the mega auction will see Bumrah go as the most expensive player if he's released in the auction.

I genuinely believe it is time for a reset and every franchise should be allowed to keep one player from their franchise like it was at the inception and the two new franchises should be allowed to pick from the open pool and have the purse deducted as per any marquee player. I think the next purse will be 100 crore and marquee players retaining 20 crore retainers.

Of course, RCB will shamelessly pay 22-25 for one individual, make him captain and hope they get a cup in the next 5 years.

and that my friend, is never gonna happen

Yes. MI will never release their core team. Players like Rohit, Bumrah & Hardik will be retained by MI.

By the way even if they wanted, MI cannot retain SKY or Kishan and they are no more uncapped players.

So as per rules of BCCI, once a player is capped, franchise cannot retain them again for next immediate year. Read this somewhere on instagram. Can anyone elaborate on this?
Virat's cunning plan to get them to RCB.

I think, Kohli will be sacked by RCB after 2021, if they didn't win this year. 14 years without winning IPL trophy - it's really bizarre.
I think he stays captain as long as he wants while he is the biggest name in cricket. RCB aren't going to want to lose out on sponsorship by potentially making him want to go to another team where he could be paid more and captain.

Kohli will never win IPL trophy because he lives in anxiety. For his nerd & poor captaincy, RCB lost so many matches. Misunderstanding always consume conscience. IPL Trophy is not important for RCB management anymore! That's really sad for RCB fans.

but will it happen?

MI DC SRH RR all of these will go in favour of 3+2 rule or 4+1 rule as they have valuable cores they wish to retain

MI - Rohit Hardik Bumrah Pollard
DC - Iyer Pant Rababa Shikhar
SRH - Warner Rashid Bhuvi Williamson
RR - Stokes Archer Buttler

pretty sure they will push to great strengths to have a 3+2 or 4+1 rule

It is not about them pushing. They are locked into the IPL fold. There are two new franchises up for sale with a huge financial commitment and they will move oceans and mountains for a level playing field and rightly so.

There is also a feeling of exhaustion with the current set up. There are 5 Indian cricketers in various franchises ready to be captains or marquee players. The more stars the BCCI makes, the more cash it generates.

Nerd ? You mean Noob or Naive right?

The reason why RCB hasn't won a trophy yet is pretty clear by their decision making and their selections. I think Kohli has had a big influence in these decisions, RCB's issues strike a semblance to the selections he made on the 2018 SA tour and on other occasions. Releasing QDK after one season was incredibly stupid, they now lack an experienced wicket-keeper batsman at the top. They played Hetmyer for a while, and he did deliver on a few occasions he was quickly discarded. Now RCB has a middle order void which can't be said to be filled, depends on whether Maxi wants to be on his million dollar vacation or actually play to his potential. As long as Kohli is at the helm RCB will never win a trophy. But he will go nowhere, that means there's no point being an RCB fan. You RCB fans are better off supporting another side, I'd highly recommend becoming apart of the very small SRH fanbase we got here on this site :p.
